Jessica walked in circles around Bethany and me, not saying a word to either of us. She just kept a sickly sweet smile on her face as she came to stand directly in front of Bethany. I couldn't read Jessica's facial expressions as Jessica stared at Bethany. She moved closer and grabbed the hair on the nape of Bethany's neck, and pulled her head back.
Jessica chuckled as she watched Bethany's face contort with pain. Bethany was trying to keep a neutral expression on her face, but Jessica was doing her hardest to get us to break our silence. I watched as Jessica slapped Bethany repeatedly in the face before releasing her hair. I sat on the hard ground and watched as Bethany went to jerk her hand to her face but remembered she was supposed to be tired up.
