"Aiya! It comes down to the prestige of this Castle, and the faith of the World's strongest Human, in the end.
You see, after the battle that took countless lives, people were still ridden with tears and trembling, The higher the strength one possesses, the more suppressed they feel. This fear led them to look for the sole consolidation around, which was this abode.
So using the Marriage Selection as an excuse, Those Dukes and Plump Earls all pushed forward and had themselves separate courtrooms to rest while everything fades. Remembering that the loom of the dragon's re-invasion still has a high possibility of happening."
"I see if that's the case then it'll be easier than I thought,"
I said with my natural composure,
‘Thank the gods I idled back for a full week! had I broke in at once, I'm afraid...’
I fan my fictitious sweaty face with the dazzling Fan I bought some days ago. It was encrypted with series of bold names and nice phrases that made me feel just as cool when waving it.
I did my best in rewriting Guido's memory.
In it, I was a fourth child he bore from a hidden mistress who died recently at a faraway whatever land.
I then managed to meet him and deliver a secret letter my ' mother' Wrote at her dying breath. Whatever was written in that letter managed to move his heart to accept me as a legitimate child, although not the heir, But this was still enough to qualify to attend the Queen's Marriage Selection.
He had been going on about how he loved my ‘mum’ that it made me want to puke on his face. So I was grateful he changed the topic.
"What do you mean Easy huh! see this? on it are the names of the Children of Heaven you should look out for, If by any chance they desire the Queen's hand in marriage, then the competition this time would be fierce if three or all of them manage to make it before the start of the Competition. As for you, forget it, the battle would be way above your league."
Saying so, and as though thinking I wouldn't understand the immensity of the situation, he began breaking down all their averages and points.
"The first, Angelo. This man hasn't even reached 28 yet but his Prowess with the Sword is unlike what has ever been seen before with all those in his generation. Needless to say, he is the very peak of all Geniuses and can even be comparable to all those Old Masters.
The next, Sir Liam and High Lord Chase; These two are often mentioned together and more than once had battled for the number two position. It's just that their positions are always fickle and most times change after every battle. Sir Liam uses the Broad Sword and High Lord Chase uses his godly Lance. both of them are at the 5th layer of the High Rank.
Next is; Sir Sermon, Lady Gwen, Lady Olive, Sir William, and lord Barone. These people are all Dragons amongst their generation and have reached higher realms than anyone else."
"Huh? They're women too? Are they just competing for fun or do they perhaps have an uncommon trait?"
"Huh? Some join to personally witness how great the might of their peers are while the others compete on behalf of their benefactor. Cases like this are not rare at all. So, are you still confident?"
"Wait a minute! Why would you know all this stuff if you aren't even competing too? Or could it be that. . . ?!"
"Of course I had planned on staking it all against this younger generation to grasp the treasure in my hands, and not only me, most men with high rankings, and even some Earl would surely compete. But I couldn't even step a foot inside the Castle. Those damned guards stopped my escorts for being too ‘flashy—’”
‘You should understand their hidden meaning’
“—After being played with for a long time, the Guards got tired and finally told me the truth. It turns out that Old Queen had ordered them to stop all my advances. In her words 'a toad lusting over a Swan's meat'... Gosh, am so angry right now. It was because of this that I entrusted you with this burden. Go on and take that Beauty for yourself! So are you confident?"
‘Even the Queen doesn't want you near her daughter. Take a hint man, even the gods won't help you now.‘
"Don't compare me with those wastes? Guido, am disappointed in you. Wait for my good news," Without looking back I strode into the castle gates with a slight smile on my face.
“You aren't showing the respect I deserve as your father!” Guido grumbled in the background.
So with a weird father-son relationship, I board the one-way trip to Terror Castle.
Even though I feel apprehension of facing the Queen again, this time with less than 1% of my full strength; I still make fun of Guido time and again.
The man was too helpless. What a swine.

"If you know yourself and you know your enemy, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles." Excerpt from,
The art of war by Sun Tzu.
___ ___ GIPSY POV ___ ___
After the last battle —although everyone who could make it out was filled with relief — we still knew that we humans fell short in every way, maybe that was why we immediately cowered for support in our shells or hung on stronger Masters. Relative to say, The threat of the dragon's re-invasion had got us all on our toes.
'It was just one freaking dragon, and we could have lost everything if not for timely help...'
"Mom, you should be resting. By the gods, you're still injured, there's no need to push yourself this hard!" My daughter reminded me in a whisper.
I instinctively held my injured side then groaned at my foolishness, she could confirm how hurt I was now.
I respond quietly "I know honey, just don't get yourself down okay, after the announcement closes, I'll directly go into seclusion, and then, not just healing alone but even my current level would be increased exponentially."
The reason we were mushing our voices, well... Because currently we and other higher-ups were seated lavishly on a raised platform and had designated seats.
Since Clover had already been coronated as the current Queen, for the first time I sat somewhere behind her at her left and felt the thrill of being one of the 'benches'. It was good this way, at least I could finally have the serene and lone atmosphere that I had always wanted.
