Chapter Four-1

2015 Words

Chapter Four Royse’s confidence in me is a dicey thing. He falls asleep n***d beside me without a thought for his physical safety, but he never offers me the entry code for his front door, and in the morning, he buys me a day pass to the Eris Station Amusement Globe, suggesting that I’ll be safer there than I would be waiting for him two doors down from where his father sleeps. I’m almost impressed with both the idea and the way he proposes it. It’s a cleverly polite way to avoid leaving me alone in his room, no doubt cheaper than what he’s afraid I might steal. I don’t bother trying to convince him that none of his stuff is worth more than his help in Clutch’s heist. Working the market dome is too risky at the moment, and I have nothing else to do until we can get into the quarantine
