1114 Words
I   Because of the new information that the male receptionist might be the serial killer, William and Cresilda need to continue their mission again.   Around five o’clock in the afternoon, William and Cresilda, holding hands, entered the secluded, old and cheap hotel in the city.   William smiled at the male receptionist as they checked in. “For short-time, three hours,” he said.   The male receptionist with narrowed eyes looked at Cresilda and then smiled sarcastically. “Enjoy your short time Ma’am,” he said while giving Cresilda the key to the room that was booked for them.   William grabbed the key and looked at the male receptionist sharply.   In return, the male receptionist grinned mockingly, looking at Cresilda from head to foot; foot to head.   William could not contain his anger with the rudeness of the male receptionist. “What is your problem man?! Are you an addict or a maniac who is trying to eye on my lady, even if I am just in front of you? What do you want?” With a harsh tone, William said. In a way, he also would like to challenge this male receptionist, so that just in case he is indeed the serial killer, then he will be going after him. He might think of making him his next target or victim.   The male receptionist’s wicked smile suddenly hanged in the air as he looked at William’s sharp eyes. Obviously, fear suddenly creeps through him. William is tall, almost six feet in height, and muscular while the male receptionist is only around five feet and six inches tall.   “Do that again man, I swear, I will throw you out of this hotel with broken ribs.” William threatened more the man upon seeing that there were fears in his eyes.   Cresilda abruptly holds William's arm and patted him. “Don’t mind him, sweetheart, let’s go.”   Before turning his back to go, William gazed at the male receptionist once again with a dagger look.   The male receptionist lowered down his head and murmured his apology, but in his eyes cast such anger that no man could fathom.   II   As the elevator’s door opened on the third floor, Cresilda suddenly felt a fang in her stomach. She did not know but her senses especially her thin cat hairs are absolutely in haste.   Cresilda holds William’s arm tightly and whispered. “William, I am really not comfortable every time I entered this floor and passed through that male’s comfort room.”    “Me too, let’s walk fast,” William said while striding his long legs, almost dragging Cresilda until they reached room 312.   Inside room 312, William became restless; Cresilda noticed him. “William, what is wrong with you?” “Nothing Cresilda. If you want to rest or sleep, you can. I will review my lessons.” William said while pulling off from his big sling bag a thick law book.   Cresilda shot William with a glance. Somehow, she finds admiration for this man. He seems to be a serious man, with ambitions in life. She really did not know yet William’s family background, but looking at him, she can conclude that most probably he is from a modest family. He is a very simple man.   “William, did you not get bored reading that thick book every day?” Cresilda teased William.   William made a short laugh. “Nope, if your heart and interests jive for the law profession, you will never get bored reading the laws.” He glanced at the woman, who is now lying flat on the bed.   “I see. Study harder then, I might ask for your help in the future.” Then Cresilda laughed. A streak of sadness runs through her eyes.   William noticed Cresilda’s sadness. He wanted to tell her something but then he decided to just shut his big mouth. There is always a proper timing for everything, he thought.   William became engrossed with his book. He did not notice a while ago that Cresilda already fall asleep. Until he felt his neck stiff, he slowly turned his head up and glanced at Cresilda. He immediately removed his eyes from her as he felt something within him. He has no right in any way to touch her nor fantasize about her. He felt like an i***t.   But he could not control himself, with a gloomy face, William looked at Cresilda again, who is already sleeping soundly. He is beginning to feel something for her. He knew that it is not mere lust or infatuation, he truly likes Cresilda. She pitied her for marrying an asshole and she wanted to save her from him and the pains that he might cause her further. If only, he could tell Cresilda the truth.   William shook his head and tried to focus again reading his book. He tried not to glance at Cresilda again. III As William and Cresilda, walked out of the hotel after almost three hours, the male receptionist followed them with a gaze; his eyes blazing with indignation.   The female receptionist beside him, who happened to be the secret agent sent by Senior Inspector Abas, noticed the look that the male receptionist shot onto William and Cresilda and she took note of that. In her mind, she is seeing so many clues and leads already that this man beside him might be the serial killer that they are looking for.   “Why are you looking at me like that?” The male receptionist asked sternly as he noticed that the female receptionist beside him is looking at him with full curiosity.   “Nothing, I just can sense that you truly hated those customers of ours.” The female receptionist said while pouting her lips towards the backs of William and Cresilda, who are now walking out of the hotel’s main door.   “Yes, if I am the husband of that woman, I won’t think twice to give her what she deserves. I will kill her.” He said to the astonishment of the female receptionist.  The female receptionist was so shocked. She put her hands on her mouth while looking at the male receptionist with wide eyes. "My God, you are so gross. It is as if you can easily kill her," she said as a test on how the male receptionist would reply. The man laughed wickedly and with anger in his eyes again said, "An adulterous woman deserves to die." From a distance, a bellboy who is walking, approaching the reception area suddenly stopped upon hearing the male receptionist’s statement. He smiled at the male receptionist and nodded as if saying, "You are right man."
