The room was dark when she entered, and she had anticipated that he might refuse her request. However, she had already stepped inside and turned on the lamp beside his bed. He gasped in surprise upon seeing her but he had no choice but to keep quiet. With Sabrina in the other room, they shouldn’t make unnecessary noise.
“I thought you were going to wait for me in the garden,” he reminded her.
“Yes, I was supposed to, but I miss you already, Ken,” she replied and then she heard him groan and curse simultaneously before he hugged her.
“I miss you too, Isabelle, but this is risky! My wife is in the other room and she might hear us!”
“Or she wouldn’t! Sabrina was probably tired, don’t you think?”
“Well, she must be tired from doing everything earlier. Where’s Daniel? Isn’t he home yet?”
