Chapter 15 The goths we’re watching have been pinned down by the river, fighting off unseen assailants. At least, that’s what we think they’re doing. There’s no reason for all the shouting and flailing otherwise. We peer over a small embankment at the group of six misunderstood teenage rebels who are industriously trying to set the rainforest on fire. But each time their spells set the trees ablaze, the mist condenses and chokes out the flames. I almost feel bad for them, but watching them run around like headless chickens is pretty funny. If I squint a certain way, it does look like there are menacing figures in the mist, darting between trees and using vines and moss for cover and camouflage.
