Shifting the gear into third, Matt grinned. “It’s my day off. Want to run up to Charlotte and go to Carowinds?”
“I’d love to,” said Sarah with genuine enthusiasm. “But we gotta ride all of the rides, every coaster.”
“Deal,” he said, patting her knee.
Sarah loved a thrill and it excited her to discover Matt did, too. In fact, the more time she spent in his company, the more things she discovered they had in common. If only she could learn to share his enthusiasm for life.
Monday night over dinner, she told her parents of their plans for Tuesday. Sarah no longer asked for permission, but she did try to keep them informed of her whereabouts. Her mother never objected and tonight was no exception.
