“Yeah,” growled Sarah, lifting her head to see his face.
“Bummer,” said Matt, a twinkle in his eye. “Better take advantage of tonight, then.”
The Yellow Jacket’s first home game proved memorable for Sarah. She had not attended any games last year, but this season held an incentive. After witnessing the abuse Matt was willing to go through, she hoped he would do well this year. Lori once mentioned the physical challenges of college ball, but Sarah had no idea what the players endured until now.
Heather and one of her friends accompanied Sarah to the game. Her roommate had returned to college refreshed and lacking in attitude. They had yet to butt heads, but Sarah sensed it was only a matter of time. Her roommate had already snapped once at Matt when he asked her to leave the room.
