~Scott ~
I pleaded with Melon not to go back home after everything but she insisted. I didn't want her going back to that dangerous place.
There was not a way she was safe there. That husband of hers was not just a threat -he is actually more dangerous than anyone can imagine. He had to be overcome in time.
How could a woman like Melon be ill treated by such a fool of a man. I had been patient enough .
I had lived in agony the last nine years -away from the woman that I loved with the whole of my heart.
I was not going to let go this way-i was going to do all it takes to bring Richard to the books. He was a dangerous person who was not meant to live with the rest.
My drive back home was so tiring -I kept contemplating what I had to do.
The fact is I had a lot going on.
I had thought everything was going to be a bit easy, but it seems I was totally wrong.
Thinking about it all, I got my phone and dialed the only number in my ‘favorite list.’
I was impatient, however it was answered after about two rings .
“Hey,”he said ,paused and continued “Scott, you are the last person I expected to hear from.” He said, his voice realistic and calm.
I sighed , speaking “I know, but you know ,you I need some information.” I said , straight to the point.
“Anything for an old friend.” He said.
“I want information about someone, I am going to email you his name and picture.”
we didn't say much after that, that was how our conversations were all the time. They were all direct to the point.
After that, the rest of the journey home was a quiet one. I decided not to over think knowing how dangerous it would be to me.
It didn't take long before I got home. The gate of my mansion parted the moment it detected my car approaching, welcoming me into a world of loneliness.
My car rolled through the polished drive towards my parking lot, assembling next to my other very many cars.
I stepped out and took a slow and deliberate breath. It had been a hard day. I had hardly eaten anything. I felt so exhausted and a bit defeated.
That was not how I was usually, but I just wouldn't help it this time round.
The evening air was crispy . I decided to move towards the inside.
My shoes echoed softly across the marble floor as I made my way to the study.
The room was dimly lit, the glow from a single crystal lamp reflecting off the polished mahogany desk.
I got off my jacket, throwing it randomly on the opposite couch and then proceeded to pour myself a glass of deep red wine.
I swirled it gently as I sank into the couch. The silence was heavy. I was supposed to be at least happy that I was a few steps to getting a woman in my life.
I decided to click on the answering machine. I knew I had many messages since I had left right in the morning.
“Scott…what is taking place there. You have been very quiet.”That was one from my best friend, Adrian.
“Scott,my son. Hope you are working on it. You promised to introduce me to your girlfriend soon.”That was from my mother.
My mouth creeped into a smile. That was my mother, she had always told me to show her my girlfriend.
I know it has always been for the good. However, I knew this was going to be done anytime.
I took a long sip , savouring the wine , letting it burn its way down my throat.
I decided to enjoy the calm . The chandeliers sparkled like frozen stars .The mansion was silent , I decided to be calm .
As I sat back, trying to take in everything…my phone vibrated. It was an incoming message.
