CHAPTER 6
On Thanksgiving Day, we had a great turkey dinner at Mrs. L’s. Her pumpkin pie, topped with vanilla ice cream, was the greatest I’d ever tasted. And her cherry pie was rocking out. I even took a piece to my room, to eat later.
It was good to have a couple of days off from school. It gave me the opportunity to write a letter to my parents and grandfather who, on the sly, had been sending me some extra money. Grandpas are kind of good that way, aren’t they? When writing to my parents and grandfather, I did leave out a few things. I, mean after all, I’m not dumb enough to tell them the whole truth. I also sent a letter to my buddy, Dent. I told him about everything that had been going on the past three months, including where I was living and all about my roommates.
