For Elizabeth, Saturday morning arrived quickly. The week had been uneventful for the most part, with the only exception being two phone calls from her mother-in-law, Abigail Carter. When she’d called the second time on Friday, Chris had taken the phone from her and told Abigail that this was an office and that she was disrupting his employee’s ability to do her job and tying up his phone line with things that were not related to his business.
