Chapter 4

Sebastian got to the party holding Lily's hand, they were both acting like they have been together for quite some time. Everyone at the party seems to be engrossed with the music, a few noticed that Sebastian was at the party as they came forward to give their greetings.

Lily noticed that the party also had a good number of notable people in the society, most especially Sebastian's business partners.

"Hello Sebastian, one of the guys said as he came closer to greet Sebastian.

"Hi, how are you doing?" Sebastian responded.

So many people seemed to know him, he was perhaps one of the influential among them all, they were really happy to see him, and many of them occasionally stole a glance at Lily, Lily wondered what could be going on in their minds, it was obvious some of them were surprised to see Sebastian with Lily since they have never seen her in their click before.

They both spoke for a while with his eyes on Lily. He could perhaps be wondering what Sebastian could be doing with her or when he started to date Lily.

Rosie had also come to the party, dressed so beautifully and classy, she has always been the sophisticated type of lady, she wore a petticoat decorated with beautiful furs, she had a heavy makeup on her face, giving the sophisticated look she was known for.

Rosie is a very beautiful woman and rich too, even though she was separated from Sebastian she had her eyes on him, she really wanted Sebastian Back to herself, she was ready to do anything just to get him back to her arms.

The moment Rosie saw Sebastian walk into the party with Lily, Rosie's anger and resentment for Lily filled her with a rush and enveloped her whole being. She quietly stood up from her seat, with a glass of champagne in her hand, and walked up to where Lily and Sebastian were seated.

"Hey Sebastian, I see that you came here with someone," Rosie said, looking at Lily with so much hatred.

"Yes, she's Lily and she's my date, do you have any problem with that?" Sebastian asked, now holding Lily's hand even more tightly.

"Yes, I have always known that you were cheating on me with this girl, but you made it look like she was just working for your company and now you are here with her as your girlfriend," Rosie said, sipping her drink.

Rosie was a jealous lover, even though she cheated on Sebastian and even separated from him, she still wouldn't let Sebastian be.

Lily wasn't just comfortable with the scenario, but she couldn't help out, she aleady found herself roped in the plan aheady. She didn't want to be insulted by the shameless Rosie, Lily knew that Rosie could say or do anything just to get back into Sebastian's life, she knows that Rosie sees her as a threat to getting Sebastian back into her life but then Lily totally has no romantic attraction towards Sebastian.

Lily stared Rosie in the face, pained for her wrong accusation, Lily makes up her mind to stand up for herself, if Rosie ever comes to attack.

"Hey,I'm not the cause of your insecurity, I think you should work on your attitude. If my boyfriend says he doesn't want you anymore then he really doesn't want you," Lily said to Rosie's face.

The mischievous smiles on Rosie's face were replaced with anger as she heard Lily call Sebastian her boyfriend, Rosie became pained.

"I have always known that you are just a cheap slot looking for a rich guy to hook with," Rosie said, looking at Lily with disgust.

Lily went forward to Rosie's face and spat on it.

"I'm a cheap slot, but at least, I don't sleep around while still married, I guess you can't say the same about yourself," Lily fired back at her with a mischievous laugh.

Rosie's face became red with anger, she went forward to slap Lily, but Lily held her hand and took it down. Rosie quickly left them in anger, smashing her glass of wine.

Sebastian had always known Rosie to be a bag of trouble so he came really prepared for her, and he was glad that Lily did a good job acting as his girlfriend and putting Rosie off.

The music was still emanating from the speakers with so much intensity, everyone continued to dance to the rhythm of the music.

"Dance?" Sebastian said to Lily, extending his hand to her.

"Sure dance," Lily replied cheerfully.

Sebastian held Lily's waist while Lily placed her hand on his shoulder and they began to dance. Sebastian was looking at Lily's face, he was trying his best to make everyone believe that he and Lily were dating, he would occasionally kiss Lily on the cheek.

"Thank you for accepting to do this for me,it meant a lot to me, now Rosie would feel it too," Sebastian said quietly as they danced.

"You are welcome," Lily replied.

They danced for a few more minutes and Sebastian excused himself to go have a drink.

They were still in the middle of the party. Lily could notice that Sebastian had had many drinks already and it had already begun to affect him. He was really drunk, he had been gulping shots of brandy down his throat, Lily stood up immediately and went to him.

" Let's go home sir, you have had so much to drink," Lily says, helping him to get up from the seat.

"Leave me alone Lily, I want to still have some drinks, I haven't had a good drink for some time now, so allow me have this," Sebastian said in his drunk state.

Lily collected the glass of brandy in his hand and gave it back to the bartender and led Sebastian outside where the car was packed. Lily helped him get into the car as she drove the car. She realized she hadn't been to his house before now.

"Hey sir, I hope you can remember the route to your house?" Lily asked.

"Sure I can, just let me drive the car to my house, of course I know the way," Sebastian said.

"I'm so sorry, but I can't allow you to drive in this condition, you are drunk, let me drive you to the house," Lily insisted starting the car.

Sebastian was able to direct Lily to his house while she drove the car, she really felt pity for him, the much drink he had at the party was beginning to take toll on him as he made incoherent statements, Lily has never seen any man love a woman to his extent, she really wished she could do something to help her boss out of the things he was passing through, she had already helped him by pretending to be in a relationship with him.

Lily got to his apartment, and helped Sebastian to bed. He was obviously weak and looked so tired, even though he was still awake but he could barely speak.

"I have to take you to your room right now," Lily said.

"I don't want to sleep,I can't sleep, I just can't get Rosie off my head,I love her," Sebastian continued to say and even broke down in tears.

"You have to get hold of yourself and let go of Rosie since she cheated on you," Lily said holding him.

"I want to have much more to drink, I want to drink so that I can forget about this. Each time I try to let go of it , it comes back into my mind. What have I done to deserve this? I mean, having been a good husband to her, I didn't deserve this, " Sebastian said as he continued to cry, refusing to be consoled.

He staggers to the mini bar in his living room and grabs a bottle of whiskey.

Lily collected the bottle of whiskey from him, it was obvious he really loved his wife, he had tried too much for him to be really pained by her actions.

"You do not have to hurt yourself, I told you to let go of your anger, just let it go, you can always find someone that would love you and you can love too," Lily said, taking the bottle of whiskey from him.

She helped him to bed.

"Stay here on the bed while I make you coffee to drink," Lily said, putting him to bed.

Lily goes to the kitchen to make him a cup of coffee and brings it to him. He drank the coffee.

"Don't go away please, can you please spend the night here at my house? Don't leave me alone tonight,``he muttered.

This was a difficult request but Lily couldn't say no to him, she was already feeling very sorry for him,

"Okay fine, I will stay right here with you, you don't have to worry, I won't leave , you can sleep while I go to sleep on the couch, I will be here to watch you" Lily said calmly.

Sebastian held on to Lily tightly, he kept touching her body while calling her Rosie. He kept on romancing her body, his hands caressing her skin.

"Rosie," he muttered again.

Lily quietly took his hands off her body, she understood he was still pained by the heartbreak and it was still difficult for him to move on, he continued to mention Rosie in his subconsciousness as Lily put him to bed and went to sleep on the couch.
