Chapter 15 When Nicole entered the Cannoli Cafe in the evening, she told Susie she could take the rest of the night off and that she would open up the next morning. While she trusted Susie a great deal, she didn’t want anyone beyond Lia, who was essentially the “stakeout driver,” to know what she had planned, in case it could put a wrinkle in the possible capture of Stuart Helm’s murderer. Ordinarily, it would have been difficult to spend time in her cubicle area in the evening, especially if Susie were out. Most nights were packed at the cafe. But this evening was quite different, no thanks to Danielle Pruitt. Instead of being disappointed, however, Nicole was actually grateful that the tide hadn’t turned back quite yet; she needed the cafe to be empty so that she could execute her plan
