Chapter 8
A few days prior to the murder
“What did you get on your history exam?” Sebastian asked his friend, Johnny Eckel.
“I got an A. What did you get?”
“Teacher's pet! I guess it helps to be the mayor's son,” said Sebastian, chuckling a bit. Johnny knew he was only kidding. Sebastian was his best bud, someone who stuck by him his whole life. Johnny really appreciated his friend, who was almost like a brother, since he didn’t have much family beyond his mother. “I got a B+ actually, which I’m happy about. I’m not as good at European history as I am American.”
The two young high school sophomores were walking through Eastlane mall, located about ten minutes outside of Rosewood. “So what are you going to buy your dad for his birthday?” asked Johnny.
“I think I want to get him a tie
