After an afternoon of shopping and picking out bedroom furniture they had returned to Ronny’s home to prepare for the evening's events. Ronny showed her to a grand armoire in the corner of his bedroom. It was empty, and he said she could store her new wardrobe inside. He was happy to help her put away her new clothes, hanging up her new gowns so not to wrinkle them. Tucking the shoes and handbags into the slots on the storage shelves above.
Vi then realized there was an extra bag. “What is in this one?” She asked sitting down on the bed and reaching for the bag.
“That bag is for me.” He said with a cheeky smile.
“Is it now?” She said reaching inside and removing a white silken negligée. It was very alluring. “I don’t think it is your size.” She teased.
“Oh dear,” he smiled, “they must have made a mistake. I suppose you will have to wear it then instead.” He said playfully as he opened his closet and began to select his attire for the evening. Vi could not believe what she was seeing. The man had a closet that would be in the dreams of every woman. A huge walk-in closet with a dressing section within. A full-length mirror mounted on the wall. Vi rose from the bed and stood in the entrance of the closet staring with quiet awe as she watched him carefully select his eveningwear.
“This is incredible.” She said. The man had more clothes than she ever had in her lifetime. She pawed through his wardrobe looking at each remarkable article. He had something for every occasion one could think of. She came across some leather and jeans, some flashy wild looking outfits she assumed were from his touring days. “Do you still wear these?” She asked looking over her shoulder to see him already dressed in his black slacks and white tux shirt.
Ronny was busy buttoning his cufflinks as he strolled over to look at what she was referring too. He saw his old performance wear and chuckled. “Not for a long time.” He said picking up a wine-red cummerbund and wrapping it about his waist. “Why do you want me too?” He asked playfully flashing her a wicked grin. “You feel like playing rock star and groupie?”
Vi grinned, the man had a wicked mind. She watched as he took his tie and wrapped it around his neck. Standing in the mirror, he attempted to tie it. After his third attempt to Vi came to stand before him and pushing his hands aside, she fixed it for him.
“Thank you that blasted thing always takes me forever to get right.” He confessed reaching for his dress jacket. He pulled it on and buttoned up the front. He looked positively dashing. “Now you should hurry along and get ready, so we are not too late.” He said rushing her along to her gowns. “Make a choice and get ready. I will meet you downstairs. I have a few things I must take care of before we leave.” He said placing a kiss to her cheek.
She watched as he left the room, closing the door behind him as he left. Vi undressed. Going through the bag on the bed she sorted through the sexy lingerie Ronny had bought for her and tucked them away in a drawer inside the wardrobe. She then decided to dress in the white strapless silk negligée that lay on the bed. It felt wonderful against her skin, and she was surprised at how she looked in the mirror. Darcy would have never bought her anything like this. It was surprising how something so small could make her feel so desirable.
Vi then selected from her wardrobe a wine-red evening gown that hugged tight around her waist and wrapped over her right shoulder leaving her left bare. The full-length skirt draped elegantly in a wraparound pattern overlapping in the front and trailing in the back. It was accented with a wide black belt and a matching bracelet. Taking some pins, Vi swept her long hair off her shoulders and pinned it up in a careful configuration atop her head with the odd ringlet hanging down the back of her neck.
Vi fixed her face and tossing what she thought she might need into the small black handbag that came with the dress. She put on her shoes and headed downstairs. She came to the bottom of the stairs and did not see Ronny. Vi strolled into the parlour and found him finishing a glass of rum. He placed the glass down and stared at her as she entered the room. His eyes raked over her with approval. “You look sensational.” He remarked. She was pleased to see the lusty look in his eyes.
“You look very good yourself.” She smiled.
“There is just something missing.” He said walking over to the wall. He removed a painting from the wall to reveal a wall safe.
Vi watched as he punched in a code on the keypad and then pressed his thumb on a small fingerprint scanner. The safe then opened, and Ronny reached inside. From where she stood Vi could see all sorts of valuables. Money, documents, and some small boxes she was not sure what they could contain. He removed a long box and opened it up. Inside was a stylish diamond necklace. It looked incredibly valuable.
He returned the box to the safe and closed the door. He then brought it over to her and stepping behind her Ronny gently placed the delicate necklace around Vi’s neck. “This necklace was the very first thing I bought when I made it big.” He said, his fingers working the tiny clasp. “I bought it for my mother. No matter what I did in my life, she had always believed in me, always supported me. She was my biggest fan.” He said with found memory. “She’d always told me from a young age that I could be anything I wanted to be if I just worked hard enough. So, when I got my first royalty check, I spent every penny on this necklace for her.” He said turning Vi around to look at how it completed her outfit. “I took it back when she passed on. It looks good on you.”
Sometimes she felt sorry for him. Everyone he knew and loved was either dead or gone. He lived a lonely life for a man surrounded by millions of people. “I will try to do it justice.” She promised.
His dark eyes met hers suddenly, and she saw a soft heat behind those dark depths. “You are far more beautiful than this mere bobble.” She felt her heart flutter at his words. She sucked in a sharp breath as his fingers caressed her face. Ronny stepped in, his tall, hard body pressed against hers. He dipped his head and captured her lips with his in a soft lingering kiss that made the butterflies in her belly take flight and her pulse race.
Her desire stirred Vi wrapped her arms around Ronny’s shoulders and returned his kiss with a hungry need. Shivers of delight coursed through her body with anticipation of what was yet to come. His hand moved slowly down her throat and over her breast cupping her through her dress. The doorbell rang and startled Vi. She jumped, and Ronny held her close.
“It’s just the driver.” He said. “Our ride has arrived. This will have to wait.” He said with some regret. “You look far too good not to go somewhere.” Ronny escorted Vi to the door and holding it open he walked her outside. Vi was taken aback she had been expecting the town car and was met by a limo. She had never been in a limo. “Let’s go sweet; the party awaits,” Ronny said taking her hand and leading her down the stairs to the limo.
The limo ride was extravagant. With a full bar and spacious seating. It was all overwhelming. “This is exciting. Do you ride in these often?” She asked.
“Yes.” He admitted. “Is this your first time?”
“Yes.” She confessed. “Do you remember the first time you rode in one?” She asked curiously.
He chuckled. “Oh yeah, it was an exciting time. It was our first headlining tour. About two years into our musical career. We were interviewing in LA before doing a show in Malibu. They sent a limo for us. The four of us chilling in the back of one of these emptying the bar and living it up. After the show, it was a party on wheels. We had wild times the four of us.” He said a little sad.
“What happened?”
“We grew up, and life got in the way.” He said offering her a smile. “Kids grew up and came between us.”
She didn’t understand, how kids could come between lifelong friends. “What could kids do to come between you guys?”
He sighed. “Well Mike’s daughter grew up into a full-fledged hottie, and she ended up marrying David. They had a daughter of their own who also grew up to be an incredible knockout. Eric had kids of his own a son in particular who grew up to have the hots for David’s daughter who in turn is Mike’s granddaughter. Well, I shouldn’t say he had the hots for her it was more of an unhealthy obsession. Anyway, she fell in love with another man - not him - and was going to get married.
“Eric’s son abducted David’s daughter the day of her wedding right from her hotel room and tried to kill her. Sort of that ‘if I can’t have her no man will’ sort of deal. Well her fiancé tracked them down in the nick of time and in a brawl ended up killing Eric’s son to protect David’s daughter. Needless to say, Eric was devastated his son was dead. David was relieved his daughter was alive.
“When it came time to deal with the boy who had killed Eric’s son David went to the mat for him in court to see that he never received any jail time for his assistance in saving his daughter. Eric saw this as a betrayal of their friendship. He never spoke to David again. Since Mike and I sided with David on the matter, he never spoke to any of us again. We haven’t seen Eric in almost three years. He didn’t even come to the funeral. Now David’s gone, it’s just Mike and me left, and he lives in Alberta.” He sighed. “Time passes and friends are lost. I suppose this is just life.”
It was sad; she could see the pain he tried to hide behind a mask of indifference. The limo pulled up in front of the art gallery, and Vi noticed all the reporters and cameras out front covering the party. She watched as the driver got out and walked around to their door. “There are many cameras.” She gasped feeling nervous.
“Don’t worry sweet. It’s just a few pictures. You look wonderful.”
“Must we do this?” Vi asked.
“I can’t see how we can avoid it. I’ve been doing this more than half my life, and I have yet to find a way to avoid the paparazzi. Don’t worry sweet you will look stunning on the cover of Star.” He teased.
“The cover?”
The door opened, Ronny took her hand, and he climbed out of the limo pulling her along with him. She stepped out into the flashing camera lights and heard a roar of chatter and clicking. The driver shut the door behind them as Ronny laced her arm with his and led Vi up the red-carpet waving and smiling for the many cameras. Halfway up the carpet he paused and drew Vi close posing for pictures, whispering in her ear. “Smile darling.”
His arm around her waist Ronny held Vi close against him, and they posed as a happy couple for the cameras. She could hear some reporters yelling questions. Some asking who he was wearing. Others asking who the woman on his arm was and where they had met. Ronny did not answer one question. He took Vi by the hand and escorted her inside.
The gallery was filled with so many of New York’s finest. Men dressed in fine tuxedos and women is an array of beautifully coloured gowns. The catering staff walked the room with trays of champagne. The air was filled with soft harp music performed by three live musicians. Ronny walked Vi through the gallery as they viewed the beautiful exhibit.
The art was incredible and the atmosphere wonderful. Ronny pointed out some of the people he knew and told her some things he knew that perhaps she would not have known about them on other terms. She didn’t realize just how much gossip there was in the world of the elite that did not get published. What did reach the magazines and tabloid must have been but the tip of the ice burgee. “With enough money, one can buy discretion.” He explained. “Besides everyone has their secrets, so no one is likely to spill on another out of fear of retaliation.”
They then attended the auction where Ronny acquired three new paintings at a price that would have bought and sold her first home twice. After the auction, they toured the gallery once more mingling with the other guests. Vi was having a wonderful time on Ronny’s arm meeting many influential people.
“Ronny.” She heard a woman’s voice coo from behind them. They both turned to see who had called out to him with such familiarity. Vi was surprised when she saw one of the most beautiful women she had ever seen walking toward them. She had soft milk chocolate skin and long caramel coloured hair. Her complexion was flawless, and her body was remarkable; long legs with narrow hips, a tiny waist, and full breast. She wore a long white gown that tied up around her neck with a slit in the side of the skirt clean up to the middle of her thigh. She must have been about Vi’s age, but she had the body of a woman that never had children.
“Oh, my lord Mandy?” He said with some surprise. He knew this woman by name, a fact that annoyed Vi greatly. Mandy walked right up to Ronny and threw her arms around him pressing her body hard against his. Vi watched as his arms closed around her and he hugged her back.
“It is so good to see you,” Mandy said kissing his cheek. “It’s been what twenty years?” She asked taking a step back.
“Twenty-one, I think.” He grinned. “My you still look as fine today as you did then. Are you still modelling?” He asked.
“Oh no.” She admitted. “Regrettably models have an exasperation date. The big three zero.” She laughed. “It’s like mayonnaise you suddenly turn. No, I don’t model anymore, but I do still work for a model agency. I scout new talent now.”
“Well, that’s good.”
“You still look good.” She grinned running her hand over his shoulder and arm. “Still a mountain of a man I see. Did you ever get married like the others?” She asked curiously.
“Not me. I am a confirmed bachelor until the day I die.” He swore.
Vi watched the smile on Mandy’s face change to that of a wild cat stalking her prey. “Well, then we should have dinner sometime and catch up. We used to have some fun together if I recall.” She winked.
Vi saw the flash of excitement in Ronny’s dark eyes and she couldn’t help but wonder just what sort of history these two had. She found it appalling that this woman could flirt so shamelessly as if Vi were not even there. Vi positioned herself in front of Ronny and held her hand out to Mandy. “We were not introduced. I’m Vi Anderson, his date.”
Mandy took Vi’s hand and shook it with a sly smile. “Mandy Tenmen, charmed.” She then reached into her handbag and removed her business card. Mandy handed it to Ronny. “Do call darling, I’m simply dying to get reacquainted.” She said winking at him before she strolled away.
Ronny pocketed the card and watched as Mandy walked off. Vi punched him hard in the shoulder. “Ouch, what was that for?”
“What was that about?” She snapped.
“An old friend.” He said.
“Old girlfriend?”
“Not mine.” He said. “She was once engaged to David for a brief time before he left her for Kat. I just hung around with the two of them and some of her model friends from time to time. She used to work for Victoria Secret.”
“Is that a fact?” Vi said judging the way he had been staring at her. “So, you’re saying you didn’t sleep with her?” She asked.
“Well, of course, I slept with her. Didn’t you hear me I said she was a Victoria Secret model.”
“You also said she was engaged to your friend.”
“Yeah, but they weren’t serious. He knew all about it. He was sleeping with her friends too. It was a sharing program.”
She was disgusted. Vi walked away from him sickened by his behaviour. “I can’t believe you.” She snapped.
“Hey I was young, and I was famous. I was a rockstar for god sakes I could do anything I wanted and did. I’ve done things porn stars only dream of.”
“You are sick. Just who do you think you are?”
“Rockstar.” He reminded Vi following her to the ladies’ room. “Where are you going?”
“Away from you.” She snipped. Vi just wanted to get away from Ronny she was annoyed she couldn’t even look at him. She pushed open the ladies’ room door and walked inside. Even the washroom was upscale. The floors and walls were done up in dark marble. The sinks were shining silver plated, and they had a wicker basket with folded hand towels instead of paper towels. There were potted trees in the corners and tracked lighting above. Vi was alone inside the restroom. She walked over to the mirror and looked at herself fussing with her hair. She was furious about that blasted woman.
Vi jumped when the door came flying open, and Ronny came stalking in behind her with anger on his handsome face. She could not believe he had followed her into the ladies’ room. He shut the door behind him and locked the latch to keep others out. “Don’t walk away from me when we are arguing it isn’t fair.” He warned.
“This is the ladies’ room you can’t be in here.” She scolded him. “It’s against the rules.”
Ronny held out his arms as if the answer to all her objections were so painfully obvious. “Rockstar.” He reminded her. “I’m celebrated for a lifetime of bad behaviour and breaking the rules. No one would expect any less of me.”
“I expected more from you. I expected you not to ogle other women while I was on your arm.” She snapped. Darcy had done that enough, and he had eventually replaced her. She couldn’t bear to live through that humiliation again.
“Oh, I see, you’re jealous.”
“I am not.” She denied.
“Oh yes, you are.” He grinned coming toward her. “Let me tell you something about Miss. Tenmen. The girl is a freak.” Ronny said with a smile. “In more ways than one. She is also a marriage-minded gold digger which for a man like me sets off hundreds of loud flashing warning alarms. She is the kind of woman that will take a man to the cleaners. Believe me when I say she is of absolutely positively in no way any threat to you when it comes to getting with me. I know her; she doesn’t want a sugar daddy she wants a wedding ring. I don’t intend to give that.”
His assurance that he had no interest in rekindling any past relations he had once had with that woman did little to sooth Vi’s temper. She was still furious with how casually he referred to all his past escapades. To all the things he had done, to all the women he had been with. She had only ever been with one man beside him. “Just how many other women are there in your past?” She asked outright.
Ronny paused where he stood his body tense. “No, I know better than to answer that.”
“Why is that?”
“Because that question is designed to get men in trouble. There is no right way to answer that. If I lie, I am in trouble. If I tell you the truth, I am in trouble. There is no way for me to win.” He said backing up.
“If you don’t give me an answer you will be in trouble.” She warned him.
He hung his head for a moment as if asking for strength. Ronny lifted his eyes to meet hers, and he came over pulling her in his arms. “I only have eyes for you.” He said sweetly staring her in the eyes. His embrace was tender, he softly kissed her and ended any further questioning. She melted under his expert kiss. A kiss that no doubt melted the will of countless hearts before her. “Let’s forget this whole thing and just go home.” He suggested. It was a very good suggestion. Her body tingling Vi could not wait to get him alone.
***
Ronny could not get Vi out of that party fast enough. The sooner he removed them from the situation, the sooner he would no longer have to face the awkward squabbling over his past liaisons. He rushed her out to his waiting limo and once he had her alone decided a distraction was called for. The limo pulled away from the art gallery, and Ronny reached for the controls on the arm of the door. He rolled up the partition that separated the rear of the limo from the driver.
Vi watched the dark shield slide into place, a questioning look in her pretty eyes. He wasn’t about to allow her time to think and dwell on her jealousy. Ronny was determined to remind her that he had chosen her at this moment that was all that mattered. She looked so stunning this evening she had taken his breath away when she appeared in the archway. An absolute vision he had been hard-pressed to take his eyes from her.
Ronny moved from his seat to the seat next to Vi. Sliding his arm around her shoulders, he rested his arm on the back of the seat and placed his hand on her knee. “Have I told you how beautiful you look this evening?” He asked softly grazing his lips over hers.
“Yes.” She smiled.
“Forgive me if I repeat myself, sweet,” Ronny whispered kissing her softly. Vi did not fight him as he leaned her back against the bench seat. He kissed her face and neck as his hand crept slowly between the folds of her wrapped skirt. His fingertips caressed the inside of her creamy thighs and slowly slid between her legs.
Ronny smiled when he heard her suck in a sharp breath as he caressed her through her silk panties. “The driver.” Vi objected her hand reached down and took hold of his arm trying to stop his tender assault.
“He can’t see a thing I promise.” He assured her sliding her silk panties aside and pushing two fingers deep inside her woman’s mound. Vi made a soft strangled sound of pleasure as she arched beneath him, bucking her hips up to take him deeper. She was so hot, physically starved by her ex she craved every caress every touch. Ronny thrust his fingers into her manipulating her body until she trembled beneath him with pleasure. She was so beautiful as he watched her climax beneath him her face flushed a blush pink.
She was sinfully sexy and ripe for the taking. He had grown long and stiff with desire as he watched her find satisfaction beneath him. The limo came to a slow stop, and Ronny sat up helping Vi to set herself right before the driver opened the door. Ronny slipped from the car eager to get inside and get Vi’s dress off. He helped Vi from the limo and took his wallet from his pocket to tip the driver.
The night behind them Ronny mounted the steps to the front door and slid the key in the lock. Pushing the door open they went inside. The foyer was dark, but he wouldn’t need the light he didn’t intend to stay there long. Shutting the door, he pulled Vi into his arms and kissed her deeply drawing a soft purr from her throat.
She laced her arms around his shoulders and returned his kiss, their tongues dancing with one another as he backed her toward the stairs. Vi stumbled as they clumsily worked their way up the steps kissing and caressing. She slipped out of his arms at the top of the steps and moved away from him backing up toward his bedroom with a come-hither stare.
Ronny followed her into the bedroom and kicked the door shut. He watched Vi remove her belt and toss it to the floor then kick off her shoes. He grinned as he untied his tie and moved closer. He was as hard as a rock and dying to touch her. Vi reached up and slowly removed his jacket tossing it aside. Taking hold of his tie, she pulled him down to her so she could kiss him. Her nimble fingers worked free the buttons of his dress shirt while he removed his cufflinks and cummerbund.
Opening his shirt, Vi looked at him as she ran her hands over his firm chest. “I love your body.” She whispered yanking his shirt off and staring at him. He loved the way she looked at him hungry like she could devourer him. Her hands roamed over his chest and shoulders. “So hard all over.” She smiled pressing against him her breast heaving against his bare chest.
“A perfect complement to your softness.” He said unzipping the back of her dress. Ronny let the dress fall to a pool of fabric at her feet. A satisfied smiled curved his lips when he saw she had dressed in the white silk negligee he had bought her earlier that day. She looked sexy he could hardly stand it.
Vi’s hands went to his trousers, and soon she was pushing them down his legs. On her knees before him. A tempting sight as she smiled up at him. He stepped out of his slacks and watched as she pulled his shorts down freeing his throbbing manhood from their confines. He ached to have her. Needed so much to bury himself inside of her warm passage.
Vi looked seductive on her knees before him smiling up at him with fire in her eyes. Ronny reached down plucking the pins from her hair and letting the long gold locks fall down her back. Vi’s hand closed around the shaft of his manhood, and he gave a little sigh. He watched as she stroked him. Her eyes gazed up at him, and when she ran the tip of her hot tongue along the length of him, Ronny thought he might die. His fingers laced in her long golden hair.
Vi took him into her mouth, and his head fell back with satisfaction. She tended to him with surprising skill. A tremble of pleasure fluttered through him threatening his control. If he allowed much more of this, things would end far too soon. Ronny reached down for Vi and lifted her onto her feet.
Ronny scooped her into his arms and placed her on the mattress. He took hold of her silk panties and slid them down her long shapely legs. He kissed a hot path up the inside of her inner thigh to the damp junction between her legs. Vi shuddered at his sinful kiss. An intimate caress. He moved up positioning himself between her legs and sinking deep into her welcoming passage.
Her arms wrapped around him holding Ronny close as he made love to the beautiful woman beneath him. The way she moved with him, her sweet soft panting, there was nothing about her that didn’t do something for Ronny. Vi held tight to him begging for release as he brought them both to climax. Vi cried out with satisfaction as ecstasy washed over her. Ronny withdrew quickly to c*m outside her body as his own trembled.
He collapsed beside her on the bed and rolled onto his back. Vi nuzzled up to him. Ronny drew her close in his arms cuddling her soft glowing body against his own. He closed his eyes enjoying the feel of the cool air against his warm body and the feel of Vi in his arms. The sound of her breathing. He felt her fingers sliding over his chest aimlessly.
“Can I ask you something?” She asked softly.
“Anything.” He answered quietly.
“Why did you never get married?”
“Never wanted to.” He answered honestly. “I liked the bachelor life.”
“So even now you’re glad you never married?” She asked. “That you never had a family?”
In all honesty, there were times when he wished he had found the right woman. When he wished he had children to leave his legacy too. Like lately, but the truth of the matter was he had been a bachelor for so long, and his money presented such a barrier for finding real love such a find was imposable to make now.
If he ever was to marry it would be for nothing less than love. Since that was unlikely to happen, he didn’t see marriage in his future. He would die a confirmed bachelor and just leave his estate to one of his friends’ children he supposed. They were the closest thing he had to family anyway.
“It’s just something that never happened for me. I never met a woman that made me wish to settle down.” He answered honestly.
“And just how many women have you met?”
He opened his eyes and smiled down at her questioning eyes. “You are relentless.”
“You have yet to give me an answer.”
“And I will not.”
“I won’t stop asking.”
Ronny groaned inwardly, why could she not just let it go? Why did she need to know so badly? “You won't like the answer.” He assured her.
Vi propped herself up on his chest and stared down at him. “Well given your age I know you have likely lived a full active life. I also assume you started dating young. You were never married, and you travelled a lot as a musician with access to willing groupies. I’m willing to bet the number is in the double digits. Am I right?” She asked. She couldn’t be more off of the truth. When he did not answer, she lifted a questioning brow. “The high double digits?” Again, he held his tongue. “Triple digits? High triple digits?” When he remained silent, she sat up her eyes wide. “Can you even remember how many women there have been?”
He saw no way out; she was not going to drop the issue without getting an answer of some sort. He debated lying to her. Telling her what she wished to hear to soothe her ire and bring an end to the issue. Of course, Vi was no docile airhead either there was a good chance she would see right through any lie he told. If he told her the truth, she would likely flip right out and there was a good chance their quiet evening in bed would blow up into an all-out fight. Jealous women were hard to predict.
“If I confess to how many women I have been with do you promise to keep your temper?” He asked knowing he was asking for more than any woman could promise.
“No, I can’t promise that. The fact that you would ask me to almost guarantees that you know I will get angry. Which tells me that the answer is very high.”
“Yes.” He admitted reluctantly.
“High triple digits?” She asked.
“Higher.” He reluctantly confessed.
“Higher?” She asked eyeing him. She shook her head. “I don’t even want to know.” She snapped rolling away from him.
Ronny rolled his eyes. Why do they always ask when they don’t want to know the answer? Ronny sat up and reached for Vi capturing her hand in his he pulled her back into his arms. “Now don’t be angry sweet, you knew I was no saint.” He held her close as she pouted in his arms like a spoiled child. “Don’t be angry darling do I not make you feel special? Like you are the only one?” He asked kissing her cheek.
She gave a little smile. “Yeah.”
“Then the past should not matter. Nor should the future. What matters is right now. You and I, and these moments we share.” He said stroking her soft hair.
“Do you remember any of them?” She asked resting back against him.
“Of the other women?”
“Yes.”
“Some.” He lied, most of the women in his past were a blurry haze. Few if any had ever stood out in his mind. One simply melded into the other he couldn’t tell one woman from the other in his memory anymore.
“Will you remember me?” She asked looking up at him from over her shoulder beneath those long lashes.
He stared into those big blue eyes and smiled down at her. “You are unforgettable.” He promised, kissing her soft lips. “Now no more talk of other women.” Vi smiled in agreement, and he laid her back against the bed once more. He would make her forget her worries if it took him all night.
