“Yes.” She nodded confidently. “Well, I don’t know about this.” I looked over at her. “Guess you’re just going to have to trust me.” She shrugged. “Why should I trust you?” I raised my eyebrow. “Because I trusted you.” She pulled the door open. “Go ahead.” “Okay.” I hesitated as I stepped in the building. It was completely dark besides the little rays of light shining through the boards. “Kate.” I sighed. “Where are you?” She didn’t answer back. The building was still. I began trying to listen for her heartbeat. I heard nothing. Why was it that I always heard nothing? The creeks of the old floor made me nervous. “Kate.” I yelled again. The lights flickered on and Kate appeared beside me seconds later. “Sorry, I had to turn on the lights.” She smiled apologetically.
