Chapter Seven Sparks flew as Samuel tossed a chunk of wood on the fire. The coffee pot bubbled away on the rack, and the fish Logan had caught when they returned to camp sizzled in the frying pan, sending off a fragrant aroma that would have all the local bears’ mouths watering. Joe’s definitely was. In fact, he was starving, as he hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast. “So let me get this straight: You fired off your gun without making sure the horses were secure?” Samuel grinned and then started laughing. Joe didn’t need to look Logan’s way as he manned the fish, turning the fillets over with a fork. He could feel him shaking his head.
