Chapter 4 MARIENNE The harsh winter winds rushed around me, tearing at my hair and gown. If I were fully human, I would have been half-frozen by now. But I wasn’t just a woman. My magic shimmered and pulsed through the air, sending trails of heat through my core. Erik’s huge shoulders shifted beneath me, and I moaned at the wonderful sensation of touching him. Could he feel my warmth spreading through his back as he flew? My legs clenched tight around him, and his wings beat the air with renewed force. Power simmered in my veins.
