I disguised myself in native clothes and even managed to darken my hair, to be on the safe side. Hair so dark and in animal skins, Sepani was actually struck by my resemblance to the locals. I was a little taller than average but that would probably not be a hindrance, and I also seemed to roughly understand and speak their language.
Then I worked on an alleged excuse for my recent presence there. I planned on saying that my husband had always been very possessive of me and never let me out of the house; that he had gone into war, and been recently killed in battle. That should explain why they had never seen me around before. In my renewed freedom, I now wanted to know about life in the last decades.
