Standing by and saying nothing as Brianna wrapped her arms around Dominic was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My wolf and every cell in my body screamed at me to run over there and pull the two of them away from each other. But I knew I couldn’t do that.
If I did then I would probably only succeed in pushing them together in the long run. So, instead I clenched my hands into firsts at my side and watched on helplessly as Dominic rescinded his rejection and held Brianna tightly in his arms.
It hurt even more seeing them together because I had felt as though something was developing between the two of us, but now all of that was quickly forgotten just because he said a few easy words. I hated how it seemed so easy for her to cast me aside for the man who had rejected her.
