Chapter 17 Edric grabs my elbow, keeping me from falling as I trip for the hundredth time. “Might want to watch where you’re putting your feet.” I snap my eyes his direction to spear him with a glare, but his smile is kind. I rein in the snark. I know I’m a unicorn, and technically my very existence is straight out of a fairytale, but I’ve never seen anything like this place. I’m mesmerized by a purple vine wrapped around a tree. It’s dotted with delicate flowers resembling pink magnolias, except the flowers glow from within and seem to slowly follow my movement. Gently, I stroke the soft petals. They respond like a cat, pushing into my hand and purring. “This is incredible. Check this out.” “Those are roseus disserpo vines. I’ve only seen them respond like this to our local botanist.
