Chapter 4 I wake up from a blissfully dreamless night’s sleep only to realize I’m nauseous and my head’s in a vice grip. What’s that smell? Oh, it’s me. Sunlight pours through my open window and the breeze is a small reprieve. I roll over and tap my phone. Two p.m. There’s a text from Mom telling me to call her, and another one from Reese saying Mom knows everything. Someone left a bottle of water by my bed. I take a few sips and feel better for a moment, but a wave of nausea hits, and I barely make it to the toilet. I brush my teeth, twice, and do a double-take when I catch my reflection in the mirror.
