The Lie

CHAPTER 2 The Back Story

Alice is 5 4’, seventeen and has auburn hair. She is really pale and has freckles. She is really just a geeky nerd, especially around Navy. She only lets Navy see her true personality and who she really is. Navy is her only friend. 

Alice lives in a two story house at the edge of town with her older brother. She only lives with Landon because they don’t have parents. They were both put up for adoption and are biological siblings. They grew up in the orphanage together and when Landon turned nineteen, he got the money that his parents left for him when they disappeared and Alice got a locket that her parents left for her. She never took it off.

Because of their age difference, they were put up for adoption at different times, but Landon figured out that Alice was his sister after he looked at the files and the same person that had given up Landon, also gave up Alice.

She hated that orphanage. All the other kids were so mean to her and never stopped teasing her unless Landon was there. Landon was all she had for the longest time and would stand up to the other kids for Alice because she was too weak and scared to do it for herself. Some would say that that is why she is so mean to everyone, but the only people who know about her childhood are Navy and Landon.

Navy is 5 6’, seventeen and has dark brown hair. She was tan, well at least tanner than Alice, and really has no freckles. She is a geeky nerd like Alice and lets, those who are willing, see who she really is. So, the only people who really know her are Landon, Alice, and her parents, Lisa and Richard. But Alice was Navy’s true best friend.

Navy had a fairly okay childhood. She played with her parents and cousins on occasion. She had family, unlike Alice, Navy had parents. Navy doesn’t have any brothers or sisters, unless Alice counts, but Navy has more than enough cousins to make up for it. They only come around holidays though.

Landon and Alice have the same birthday even though Alice is way younger than Landon. Landon is currently twenty-four years old. Alice and Navy’s birthdays are only one day apart. Alice’s is on the third of July and Navy’s is on the second. Navy is older by one day and never lets Alice forget it.
