She shot him in the leg and he crumbled to the floor, but not silently. He yelled in agony.  “You shot me!” Lane screamed, surprised that she actually shot him. “I warned you.” she replied in tears. She reached in her jacket and pulled out a wire that was attached to the inside. She spoke into it, still with one hand on the gun pointed at her brother. “I got him. Please come take him now, please.” A few moments later, agents broke into the house and surrounded Lane. “You set me up?” He asked.  â€œHurts, doesn’t it.”  she replied. Alexis dropped the gun and ran out of the house to the surveillance van parked outside, where Laura and Navy waited. Alexis had Laura swing by and pick up Navy, she thought that Navy needed to know, she deserved to know.  Navy was in the back of the van and ran out as soon as Alexis had left the house. They were both crying when Navy ran up to her and hugged her. By this time it was night and the streets were damp. “I just can’t believe it, you’ve been through so much.” Navy said. Alexis paused, she had no words. She couldn’t believe what she had done. She had been running her whole life because of her brother’s mistake. He had taught her everything she knows, he taught her the ins and outs of computers, phones, and everything else electronic. He helped her in all of her school subjects. They were happy, and look where they were now. Alexis found her mom, but at what cost? She shot her brother and got him arrested, she put her best friend in danger and messed up her whole life as far as she knew. She just wanted it all to end.  “...and I put you through all of it…” Alexis said. She felt awful. “What? Alexis, you gave me a summer to remember, we have been through everything together, you gave me a story, and not just a cool story I heard from someone else, I am a part of it. Thank you.” Navy said.  She was sincere in what she said, she just hoped that Alexis would see that. Navy knew that she had understood. Alexis teared up again and hugged Navy.  “Thank you…” She whispered. Lane and the other agents came out of the house. Lane was in cuffs, limping and looking down at the ground. He looked defeated. Navy knew this look all too well from Alexis. When they came out of the house Alexis looked at her brother. Her heart sank. Her face looked as though she just saw him killed, but she did. All she could see was her brother dying, and now she was the one condemning him to death and it hit her. Hard. Alexis ran up to her brother and tried to free him from the agents. “Alexis, NO!” Navy yelled. “LET HIM GO!” Alexis screamed. “Get off my brother, leave him alone!” One of the agents holding Lane pulled his gun and at point blank range, shot her in the heart. “ALEXIS!”
