Apartments And Parents

Tyler and I were going apartment hunting today and my mother insisted on joining us, she has to stick her nose in everything. We approached the apartment, it was modern, had two bedrooms and an open plan lounge, the place was perfect to live together separately, it had enough privacy to make me feel comfortable, while my mother thought the second room was for a baby. I looked to Tyler, bouncing on the spot. "I love this place." I smiled. "Me too." He replied. "I don't think it's big enough." My mother added her say. "What are you talking about?" I questioned. "There's you and Tyler but is one room extra really going to be enough?" She asked. "Yes! We don't have kids yet, and if we decide to have more than one I can assure you we will have a house by then and not an apartment." I remarked. My mother loved to plan my life, it was infuriating. "Sierra's right. I think we should take it." Tyler smiled. "Hmph." My mother was clearly annoyed by this. We signed the lease and started moving things in. We had the bare minimum with living in a dorm you don't really have a lot. My mother began with the questions again. "How do you plan on getting to school?" She asked. "I can drive, I have a car, should I think about taking a new mode of transport I'll look into a hovercraft." I replied sarcastically. "I'll be driving her, we have the same schedule so it only seems right I drive my wife to classes." Tyler diffused the situation. I mouthed a thankyou to him as it shut my mother up. She stormed out, she seemed pissed that we had answers to every question, Tyler handled her pretty well. "How long do you think we are gonna have to keep this up?" I asked. "I don't know honestly." Tyler replied. "What about when you decide to move on." I questioned. "I already told you how I feel S, I'm not going to just up and leave you. I know you don't love me back but I won't leave you in this situation." Tyler smiled. "It's not that I don't love you, I've never been in love before." I explained. "So you do love me?" He had a devilish smirk on his face. "I didn't say that, let's just get settled first." I quickly changed the subject. "Sure." He replied sadly. A few weeks had passed since we had moved into the apartment, Tyler had been so considerate of my space and privacy. We rotated cleaning and dinner, we were the best team. Tyler walked out of his room in a vest and shorts, his shirt clung to his abs, I felt the heat rush in my cheeks, he smiled at me sweetly and sat next to me on the sofa pulling me to his side. "I've got a football game tonight and I'd like my girl to be there." He smiled. "Oh so you asked Tia?" I teased. "No, You, you're my girl." He pouted. "I'll be there." I laughed. It was the first game I had been to for a long time and Tyler was actually playing at this one. I headed to the game that night, in his jersey, I spotted Tyler on the pitch warming up, he threw me a mile and a little wave and jogged off. Then I spotted the worst person I could have, Theo, grinning like a Cheshire cat, he decided to join me, filling the empty seat next to me. "Sierra." He began. "Theo, what are you doing here, you don't even go here." I replied. "That's where you're wrong, I've been looking at taking business classes here and your mother said I'd find you here." He remarked. "Well take classes away from me and why would you want to look for me?" I questioned. "I think you married the wrong guy." He blurted. "Are you serious? You think it's appropriate to have this conversation at Tyler's game?" I snapped. "Yes." He replied dumbfounded. "I married my best friend and you need to accept that." I snapped. "But do you love him?" He raised an eyebrow. I looked in Tyler's direction, he looked so happy out on the field, I turned back to Theo. "Yes." I replied confidently. "Hmmm, your mother seems to believe otherwise." He stated. "Why is that?" I questioned. "She thinks it's all an act because you and Tyler aren't affectionate in front of her." Theo explained. "Because that's weird. I don't want my mom eyeballing me while I kiss my husband." I replied. "I do see where she's coming from." Theo declared. "Shut up Theo." I hissed. I spotted Tyler glancing at me mid game, he was watching me and Theo intensely. I smiled to him to reassure him, he returned to the game. "I'm here for Tyler. If you're not then I suggest you leave." I snapped. "I think I'll stay." He smirked. He had a grin plastered on his face, he gave Tyler a look as though he was challenging him to show his love towards me, the game ended and the stands erupted in cheers. Theo placed his arm around me. "What are you doing?" i snapped. "What?" He laughed and half smirked. I moved his arm and waited for Tyler to join us. Clinging to Tyler's side was Tia. "Hey everything okay? "Tyler asked. "Yeah, fine." I replied. "Oh are you and Theo a thing? He's cute." Tia giggled. "Erm...no." I spat. "What she means is not yet." Theo smirked. Tyler's expression turned into a mix of anger and shock. "Maybe we can double date." Tia replied excitedly. "I think I'm good." I replied, did this girl have memory issues, I told her this weeks ago I was married to Tyler. "We should get back, right Tyler?" I looked to Tyler. "Actually I told Tia I'd grab food with her. You're welcome to tag along." He shuffled on this spot. I felt a twinge in my chest, was I jealous, then I began to panic, this is exactly what I knew was going to happen. "Can we talk in private a sec?" I asked. "Sure." Tyler replied. I pulled him towards the exit of the football field. "This is what I was talking about." I sighed. "What?" He asked confused. "You moving on." I replied sadly. "It's just dinner with a friend. Besides you invited Theo to the game." Tyler snapped. "Actually my mother invited him. I'd rather he not be here." I snapped. "A double date could be fun." Tyler smiled. "I thought this was just dinner with friends." I snapped at him. "Well...erm...I may have told her it was a date." Tyler mumbled. "Are you okay? You told me you loved me and now you're taking your ex on a date." anger grew more. "It doesn't mean anything." Tyler sighed. "Clearly I don't mean anything." I felt the tears building. "That's bull and you know it." Tyler snapped. "Save it." I sniffled. I stormed off to Theo's side, composing myself. "Ready for that double date?" I asked the group. "Erm...Sure." Theo smiled. Theo drove me to the restaurant. He decided he wanted to talk in the car. "So Tyler and Tia huh?" He pressed for information. "What about them?" I mumbled. "He's dating her but married to you?" Theo raised an eyebrow. "Apparently we are just friends." I sighed. "That's not very loyal though, you should be treat like a queen not second best to Tia." Theo smiled. "Can we not talk about this right now. Please." I pleaded. "Sorry." Theo replied sadly. "Don't apologise, I appreciate you care, thank you." I smiled. We arrived at the local diner, the very same diner I had dinner with Tyler at on our first date. Theo opened the car door for me and linked my arm in his as he proceeded to walk me into the diner. Tia, however, had decided to walk herself in since Tyler looked annoyed and more interested in what I was doing. "Should we sit?" Tyler asked, trying to diffuse the tension. "Sure." I replied. "What do you want. My treat." Theo smiled. "You don't have to I can pay." I replied. "No I insist. What else do I do on our date?" Theo smiled again. "A date?" Tyler snapped. "Yes a date. That's what you called it. Is there a problem?" I smirked. "Can we talk, now?" Tyler asked. "No, we can talk later back at the apartment." I snapped. Tyler grumbled something under his breath. I was unable to hear what he said exactly. After dinner was over tension was high I decided now would be a good time to part ways. "Theo, why don't you take Tia home? I'll ride with Tyler. It makes sense that we live together." I suggested. "Sure." Theo replied, disappointed. I headed back to Tyler's truck, climbing into the passenger seat. "Can we talk now?" Tyler asked. "We have nothing to talk about." I snapped. "I think we both know we do." Tyler replied coldly. "No. You chose to take another girl on a date while you're married." I replied. "It wasn't like that." Tyler responded. "What was it like then?" I asked. "Tia was upset she had just lost her grandma, I was trying to be there for her as a friend." Tyler explained. "You didn't stop her when she called it a double date." I snapped. "I didn't want to upset her." Tyler replied. "She's been in love with you since Second grade, she will do anything to be with you and you didn't want to upset her but will happily upset me." I snapped. "Why is it such a big deal. You don't love me?" Tyler fired back. "That's not the point." I spat. "What's the point then?" Tyler snapped. "We are married, maybe you should have talked to me first." I explained. Tyler thought for a moment. "Wait, you don't think." He began. "What?" I glanced at him. "Do you think Tia invited Theo?" He asked. "I don't think so, Theo's joining the business classes, I assumed he was here just for that." I replied. "It would make sense. You were supposed to marry Theo and Tia wants to be with me." Tyler explained. "Theo said my mom told him I'd be here." I replied. "How would your mom know? I never told my mom you'd be here." Tyler explained. "Hmmm, Then you don't want to be with Tia?" I asked. "No." Tyler smiled. "And you don't want me to move out?" I asked. "No Never!" He replied. I sat looking at him for a moment, we had arrived at our apartment block. Tyler noticed me staring. "What?" He smirked. "Nothing, i just never noticed how Brown your eyes are." I smiled. I felt the air thicken a little between us. "I always noticed how beautiful and blue yours are." He smiled. Without thinking I kissed him.
