CHAPTER SEVEN JUNE 5, 10 AM ARIZONA REPUBLIC NEWSPAPER I start out the morning with the intent to follow up on Davis’s lead—this Jim Gorham guy—when the phone rings. It’s the ME’s office from Globe. Yes, he has completed the autopsy, and yes, the man was stabbed several times in the upper chest region, which caused his death. Most of the dirt and the bruising was caused when the body was tossed from a vehicle at a fairly high speed. The amazing thing is that the corpse turns out to be much younger than the body represented. He is a young man about thirty-two, thirty-three years old. The dirty clothing, the beard, the long hair, and the weathered face made him look much older.
