CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO JUNE 12TH, 8:30 AM ARIZONA REPUBLIC NEWSPAPER It’s Monday morning, and Specs has called his weekly meeting to update everyone on what is going on. Actually, nothing new is going on. Pam Rushman has been given the assignment to interview one of the local politicians running for office. She is scared and thrilled to get the opportunity and keeps telling me how she wants to do hard news. Specs is never going to send a woman to do homicide or crime investigations. He is old-fashioned and doesn’t think a woman can handle that type of story. Still, after much persuasion on her part, he lets her go and do political interviews connected to the upcoming race in Arizona.
