CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
JUNE 30, – 6 PM
MCLAIN HOME
That question follows me into the evening hours at home. Hard to shake the thought. “Why would Jimmy Doe be murdered?”
Blondie puts dinner on the table. We all eat, the kids and I until we are stuffed. She sends the boys upstairs to complete their reading assignments. She then cleans the table and makes a bit of small talk as she washes the dishes. I sit there idly thinking, not about what she is saying, but about “Why kill Jimmy Doe?”
Finally, she turns and says she is finished and is going into the living room to watch television as I am a poor communicator this evening. She knows something is on my mind.
