CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR JULY 7, 10:30 AM ARIZONA REPUBLIC NEWSPAPER After leaving the morning meeting with Specs, I wander out onto the hot sidewalk of Phoenix and consider how I might drum up a good story for this week’s Sunday headline. Deciding to stroll down Phoenix’s main street, I stop to talk with a few people as I amble along in the heat. Finally, I come to Durant’s Steakhouse and decide to go in for a tall cool Dos Equis. It’s just lunchtime, and they are preparing for the large crowd that appears every day. I am not hungry, so I head to the bar for a tall cool one.
