The first day after a summer break full of drama, Shane got an email from the campus council about the beating incident at the club last week. The email that had just arrived in his account was a more formal version of what the campus council had said to him over the phone.
This morning before he left for campus, Samie Witacker, the chairman of the campus council, called him personally to ask about the actual chronology of events that night. Shane had explained what happened and some misunderstandings that could only be seen from one side. But Samie didn't seem too satisfied with the answer. Shane was considered too involved in his students' affairs outside campus. Samie also said that the reason was too weak and did not match what was shown in the video.
