Everyone in the office was on edge the day of the game. Mason could feel the tension in the air. The only thing that eased him a little was having Megan around. She made the guys laugh and brightened up the office a little. Enough that Mason could think straight.
Mid-afternoon, Megan made herself scarce from the rest of them so they could do their last-minute prep, but Mason missed having her around. He was bouncing on his toes when the text came through with the address for the meeting. It was smack in the center of downtown.
“That’s perfect,” Dunn said.
“Too perfect,” Mason countered.
“This isn’t outside their norm,” Dex said. “Wray said he’s met them downtown before.”
“It just feels too easy,” Mason said.
