23 Mason drove up the twisty road. The stones on both sides varied from barely visible to towering. Trees dotted the sloping landscape. It almost seemed peaceful there. He’d never been to Megan’s grave. He knew where it was, but he was arrested at her funeral and wasn’t present when she was laid to rest. After he was released, he couldn’t bring himself to go there. He didn’t feel as though he had a right to visit. But he needed to go now. After everything, he had to see her. To talk to her. To put the past behind him. So he could move forward. He pulled off the road, careful not to intrude on the graves that lined the street.
