Wolf

Daisy's POV "Well, don't you guys look happy." Rose smirks as Avery and I enter the packhouse. I playfully punch her on the arm causing a growl from Kevin and Jackson. "Really guys?" Avery stares at his friends. Not pleased that they growled at me. "Yeah, seriously guys. I've known Rose way longer than you have. She's my best friend and you know damn well I would never harm her." They look guilty as they are quick to apologize to me. Benny and Sarah join the dining room and they look stunning. "Aw, Benny! You look so handsome." I give his cheeks a pinch and he looks so embarrassed. "Grandma, stooooooop." He whines out, causing everyone except for him to laugh. "Where are you two heading?" Jackson asks the couple as I steal Franklin from Sarah's arms. I love pups! Looking at Avery, he replies, "To your hotel actually." This causes my handsome mate to beam with pride. "I'm glad you chose my venue for your first date out as new parents." "Do you need us to watch this adorable little man?" I coo at the baby as I ask them. "Thank you, but no. Mom is excited to spend watch him. It will be the first time since he was born that she gets to bond with Franky." "I can't tell you how happy that makes me to hear." I genuinely tell them, feeling my heart beat joyfully. I was livid when I first heard that Violet refused to leave her room and meet her grandpup the night he was born. They had to bring him to her to introduce the pup to his grandmother. That's when I knew Violet was seriously depressed and it killed me that there was nothing I could do to bring Star back. "Do you know where my mom is? I actually wanted to see if she could watch Franky now, so Sarah and I could spend more time together other than just dinner." "She should be heading inside soon. We just finished up training." Kevin answers. Just as he answered, the kitchen back door opened and in walked all of the pack members who were training. Trailing behind is Juliette and Ryan. They look f*****g beat. Everyone begins to take a seat and dive into the foods and drinks that the omegas had just set out while we were talking. "So, how was leading the pack?" I ask, eager to know how it went after I left. Before they even say a word, Megg answers. "They did AMAZING! Not going to lie, I thought they would have quit halfway through, but they stuck it out and lead the pack the entire run in human form through the trails in the woods." "I'm getting too old for this. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath." Jace adds in. Juliette and Ryan chuckle at that. "Oh, just you two wait until you're older like me. Then we'll see if you're still laughing." "Hey now. There's still a slim chance I'll get my wolf." Juliette says, sounding serious all of a sudden. It's a sore topic and I'm surprised she brought it up. She's 18 and if she doesn't have her wolf now, it's very rare that she will have it at all. "Juliette." I hear that soft voice of Noah. "What? You guys don't think I have a wolf, do you?" She angrily asks her fathers. Alex and Noah look uncomfortable and I don't blame them. "Honestly, no sweetheart. We don't think you do and there's nothing wrong with that. Your Aunt Violet was born human as well and is a strong woman within the pack, just as you are." Alex tries to comfort his daughter, but she looks furious. "What if you did have your wolf and it turns out that Ryan is not your mate? How would that make you feel?" Noah asks, trying to make Juliette see the positive side of being human. I see Ryan's face fall and waits patiently for Juliette's response. "I- I would be devastated. I love Ryan and would reject my mate to be with him." Oh, how I want to believe that. However, the mate bond is stronger than she thinks and I doubt it would work at like that. Her wolf would long to be with their fated half and eventually Ryan would be the one with a broken heart. He is such a funny, kindhearted man and doesn't deserve that kind of pain. "Can we not talk about this here, in front of the pack while they are trying to eat in peace?" Ryan chimes in, and we agree with him. Our group heads up the Alpha floor and into the private dining room. The heated argument continues the loud voices cause Franky to start crying. "ENOUGH!" Benjamin booms, making the entire room quiet instantly. The one one not affected by his Alpha tone is his mate, Sarah. "Jules, you know I love you, but you need to think rational. Accept the fact you don't have a wolf and carry on with your life. As for you mom, could you watch Franky for the whole day, so Sarah and I can spend more time together?" Violet smiles brightly and takes Franky from my arms. "Of course!" She beams as she stares at her grandpup. "Now, can we finish our breakfast with the pack and enjoy the beautiful day?" I am so proud of my grandson and the Alpha he has become. We leave the room and rejoin those who are still left in the main dining room.
