The joy I'd felt during those first moments after shifting had been pure and uncomplicated. Now it was tangled up with the revelation about the mating bond, about Kyle and his brothers, about everything that had just shifted in my world like tectonic plates rearranging themselves. I started the long walk back to the house, my bare arms prickling with goosebumps. The bonfire would be dying down by now, most of the pack probably heading home or settling in for the night.
