CHAPTER 27: Together
“Don’t let them...”
I snapped towards my back when I heard that voice. But all I saw was endless darkness.
“Don’t let them...”
My head turned towards the other side again, and it was the same. Darkness was everywhere.
I felt my heart thump so loudly in my chest that it almost deafened me when that voice came again.
“Don’t let them...”
“What?! Don’t let them what?!” I shouted amidst the darkness. But instead of hearing the same voice, I heard deep heaves of breath and running steps. And suddenly, I was inside the woods, running.
It was then I realized that I was the one breathing so heavily. And I was clutching my chest. Feeling something surging in me as I run faster.
“Get her!”
