The Bite.
"Row, there's no damn need for you to do something like this, do you understand?" Adrian said, panic thick in his voice and face. "We can find another solution."
I walked out of the lab. Nothing felt normal anymore. Getting involved with Jason... with Adrian... it had all become a nightmare.
I stopped midway, rubbing my forehead, trying to calm the storm in my chest. Adrian caught up behind me and quickly moved to stand in front of me.
"What are you thinking?" he asked, eyes searching mine.
"Maybe I should just do it," I muttered. "Let me do this, Adrian. It's the only way to save Jason."
I shut my eyes, swallowing my anger, my pain, my fear—everything in one hard gulp.
"No. You can’t." Adrian's voice cracked. He placed his hands firmly on my shoulders
