“Can you recommend any other novels, Miss Rowan? I’ve picked up the latest by Mrs. Edgeworth,” Lady Margaret said, holding up the book in question.
“I’m afraid not,” Tina admitted. “I don’t read novels very often, I’m afraid. I usually prefer histories and biography.”
“Really?”
Tina nodded. “I’ve always found other people’s lives so fascinating.” She laughed.
Lady Margaret smiled. “Well, but novels are all about someone else’s life. The characters always have such wonderful adventures, and I’m sure they’re more exciting than a dry history.”
“Have you read the adventures of Alexander the Great? He traveled all the way to India.”
“No! Who is it by?” Lady Margaret asked.
Tina laughed. “Oh, it’s not a novel, it’s a history. Alexander the Great was an ancient Greek who—”
