Milo Not a single word until we got home. It’s a 20-minute drive from school to home. Silence was deafening and everyone was restless. However, none of us dared to say a word. As soon as we get home and dad parks the car, we start getting out. “Milo, you stay”, dad says to me. “Sit by the front.” David and mom eye me not really knowing what dad wants to do or talk about. “Honey”, mom starts but is soon interrupted by my father raising his hand. “Don’t worry, Muriel. I won’t kill our son or slap him. He’s got his wolf. I really wish I could do this with both of them”, dad says looking at David, “but I gotta do this with Milo first, and then with David when his time comes.” My mom nods his head and guides David back inside. I sit in the front seat of the car and dad starts his drive.
