Chapter 10

2157 Words
Ingo walks out of the bathroom, trying to figure out how he ended up f*****g Brynn last night. That was the one thing that he never wanted to happen again. “I’m so f*****g screwed. Now her ass will never leave me alone. She'll think that I'm free will again, and knowing her, she is thrilled with herself that I cheated on my wife with her." He's pacing in his office."It's not as if I really cheated on Jurnee. That's not what's important right now. What's important is me f*****g that conniving woman." "Who did you f**k?" Griffin walks into the office with two cups of coffee. “Brynn. Don’t ask me how the hell it happened, but it did." He frowns and sits down behind his desk. Griffin is looking at him, confused. "Damn, are you serious?" Ingo buries his head in his hands. “Just shoot me.” "Be careful what you ask for." Faun walks into the room, looks at him funny, and says nothing as she hands him his tablet. She turned her nose up and shook her head. Faun looks at the sofa, thinking, “I’m not sitting on that thing again.” Both men are looking at her, wondering why she has an attitude. Neither one has ever known her to act this way before. Griffin wants to know what happened last night. Ingo refuses to discuss it; he wants to forget about it. Faun is on the phone with Coleen, telling her about the pictures Brynn has posted. The only reason she knows about it is that Brynn befriended Penne. She saw the pictures and showed them to Faun. Coleen isn’t happy about the pictures of her son sleeping with that woman. “Are you sure you want me to do that? Okay,” Faun hangs the phone up and looks at Ingo's closed door. **** Jurnee is asleep when someone rings her door; it keeps ringing continuouslytter be dead. If not, I’ll kill them.” She mumbles while walking to the door with a pistol in her hand. “Who is it?” “It's me. Open the door,” Cisley yells while still beating on the door. Jurnee opens the door, looking at Cisley rushing past and pointing at her. Every time Cisley starts to tell Jurnee something, she shakes her head, "Oh, Jurnee." “Girl, you almost got shot. Why are you here this time of night? Jurnee sits down and lays her gun on the table. “Oh, Jurnee. Jurnee, oh Jurnee. I’m sorry to tell you this, but your husband is cheating on you.” Cisley hugs her. "Big time." Jurnee wonders why she is telling her this, then she looks at her. “ I can’t tell him to stop sleeping with women. Wait, how do you know this?” She pulls Cisley from around her. “Please don’t shoot the messenger." Cisley gives her the phone. Jurnee looks at a picture of a handsome man who seems to be asleep. “Is this Ingo?” She looks up at her, Cisley's head is bobbing up and down, and she touches Ingo's face on the screen. "That’s your handsome husband. Oh, Jurnee, he's cheating on you." She thumps his face. “Who's the woman?” Jurnee is looking at the rest of the pictures. "Brynn Ackles. She works at Vaughan's.” Cisley is looking at her, picking the phone up. “Who are you calling?” “Father, I’m sorry. But there's no way I can stay married to that man.” She said as soon as her father answered the phone. Then listens to him. “Oh, okay,” She mumbles and hangs up the phone. "Cisley, I can’t ever divorce him. If I do, we’ll lose the company to Ingo and his father.” She sits down, looking a little disbelieving. “That sucks. What are you going to do now?’ She looks at Jurnee picking up her gun and then walks toward her bedroom. “Flying to New York to claim my damn husband.” Jurnee opens her closet. “Can you have whoever sent you those pictures send you Ingo’s schedule for the next few days? I'm assuming that Faun sent those to you since you don’t know anyone else who lives there. Pack your bags. You’re coming with me.” **** Ingo avoided Brynn the rest of the day. He noticed that some of the employees would look at him strangely. But he didn’t take too much stock in it until Griffin grabbed his arm and pulled him into an empty office. Ingo looked at him as if he had lost his mind. Griffin doesn't say anything. He just shows Ingo the pictures of him and Brynn that are on just one of her social media accounts. Ingo storms out of the room and down the hall. Brynn is in the hall talking with two women. He grabs her arm and drags her down the hall to his office. She tries to get out of his hold, "You're hurting me," but he squeezes her arm harder. When they are in his office, he throws her on the sofa. “Delete those damn pictures right f*****g now. How dare you post this s**t? I should beat the hell out of you. He shouts and points at her. She didn’t expect him to react like this or to find out so quickly. Brynn's hands are trembling while taking her phone out of her pocket. She drops it on the floor and looks at him as she picks it up. “I didn’t think you would mind. They're just pictures. Ingo, what harm can they do?” She's deleting the pictures. “Delete the damn things, all of them, including the ones you have saved on your phone. Don’t do that foul s**t again. Stay the hell away from me.” He walks behind his desk. "The only reason I’m not firing you is that I’m partly to blame for this bullshit. I should have never slept with an employee, especially not your ass. It won’t happen again.” He jams his hands into his pants pockets and doesn't say anything or look at her again. Brynn runs into her office and slams the door. "s**t, I shouldn't have posted the pictures that were too extreme. I have to find a way to get back in his good graces." She's tapping on her desk. **** Jurnee arrived in New York the next day, and her father was happy to see her. He hadn't seen her since right before she left for Saudi Arabia. He was wondering why she wanted a divorce. She didn’t want to talk about it right now. The only thing she said "I warned him to keep his love life private. I will not tolerate looking like a fool. Cisley and I are going to the Blue Diamond for lunch. I have to go change first." She jogs upstairs to change into a tan pair of pants and a matching jacket with no shirt. He knows his daughter well and knows that whatever Ingo has done isn’t sitting well with her, especially since she flew here from Paris. Almost an hour has passed when Jurnee and Cisley walk inside the Blue Diamond. She looks around and spots Ingo right away. He's having lunch with a man and notices her as soon as she walks into the restaurant. His eyes follow her as she sits down two tables down from him and Griffin. “Do you know who that gorgeous woman is? Ingo points at her with his head. He didn’t know that Griffin was also looking at her. “Man, I was about to ask your ass the same question. Damn, she is stunning. Young but stunning as hell. Griffin is still looking at her. "I need to get some of that." Ingo frowned when Griffin made that last comment. But he didn't take his eyes off Jurnee. “Damn, I want to get to know her.” He was about to go over there when a man walked over to the table to speak to her. She hugs the man and talks to him for a few minutes, and then the man walks back to his table. Ingo sits back in his chair, watching her. He waves the waiter over and tells him he’s paying for two ladies' lunch and whatever else they are having. He thought that would open the door for him to meet her. He watches the waiter walk over to the table. She looks at him and says something to the waiter. The waiter walks back over to him. “Sir, the young lady said thank you, but no thanks. She doesn’t accept anything from men who are married or in a relationship. Something about the newspaper and social media. Would there be anything else, sir?" He looks at Ingo. "No, that's all." He rubs his chin, thinking about what she said. It isn't sitting well with him. He’s confused about the newspaper. Griffin is still looking at her. "Damn, man, she would have been one hell of a catch." Jurnee and Cisley order lunch. Jurnee is facing him and glances at him every once in a while to see if he is staring at her. Cisley leans across the table. "Are you going to introduce yourself to him?" "No, not yet. But soon." Jurnee looked at him again before she stood up to leave. He's still looking at her, wondering what she meant by that statement. Griffin orders them another round of whiskey. "By the look on your face. I would say you can use this." "Thanks, man. What damn newspaper?" Ingo mumbles. ****** Faun is looking at Brynn, taking all the research from Maureen and Faron. Because she's planning to work on the ad herself, Brynn hopes that Guillaume will love it and Ingo will put the picture incident behind her. Faun shook her head. "What trash? That woman is nothing but trash." "I agree that she is. Is my son available? He and I need to have a father-son talk." Raziel is looking at Brynn, closing her office door. "He's at lunch." Faun is looking at the gossip magazine that he has in his hand. But he folds it up. "Well, it can wait until I see him at dinner. If he's planning to take a date, call her and cancel it. If he has a problem with it, tell him to talk with me about it." He clenches the newspaper and walks toward the elevator, talking to himself. She couldn’t wait for the doors to the elevator to close. As soon as they were closed, she was online, pulling up that newspaper to find out what was in it. Whatever it was, Raziel wasn’t happy about it. “On my stars,” She mumbles and covers her mouth. ***** Ingo didn't return to the office. He went home. He walks into the house thinking about the beautiful young lady he saw at the Blue Diamond. “Damn, her boyfriend or husband is one lucky ass son of bitch.” Imelda and Maci are surprised to see him home this time of day. It seems that he has been spending more time at home lately. He goes straight to his office to work on a few things before dinner. He can’t get the comment about the newspaper out of his mind. Then he remembered his date with Beverly. “s**t, I can’t take her now. Not with this Brynn shit.” He called her to cancel it, but was told that his assistant had already informed her that something had come up. She was delighted that he took the time to call her and tried to converse with him. But Ingo tells her that he has a meeting to go to. He looks at his watch. " I can't be late for this damn dinner. If I'm a minute late, my mother will kill me." Ingo is walking out of the office. Why did Faun cancel my date?" ***** Raziel and Coleen are discussing their son and Brynn. She wants to sue the newspaper company. But he feels that would be a waste of time since he's pretty sure Brynn Ackles is behind it. He tells her that the tabloids don't care what they print as long as it sells. News about their son is worthy. When they are parking, they see Chamblee escorting two beautiful young women. Raziel is shocked as hell to see him with a woman, but two women. He chuckles. "It seems as if Chamblee has finally started dating." Coleen turns her nose up. "So it seems, but aren't they too young for a man his age?" She's looking at Jurnee and Cisley, shaking her head. Raziel also stares at the two beautiful young ladies. "Sly, old fox."
