THE WAY THINGS ARE

Leah lay in bed as she absentmindedly twirled around her index finger a thread that had come undone this morning after she threw her t-shirt on in a haste. She was lost in thought, it happened quite often lately. She had stopped caring about what was happening in the moment so instead she zoned out. She sighed out of tiredness rather than pleasure as she glanced downwards and began to count each eager lick the blonde delivered to her barely wet p***y. How long is this gonna take? Leah wondered in annoyance. She had picked up this girl at the bar a couple of nights ago, she had found her shyness cute and provocative at the same time. She had been easy to lure into her apartment, she truly thought she had hit jackpot with this one when the sexy vixen took charge and had her way with Leah. What was her name? Jackie? Jenny? Julia? Leah couldn’t remember jack about her name, so she simply called her baby. Just like she called everyone else. The problem with Leah was that she soon became bored from doing the same girl. Anyone could finger a p***y and suck a clit these days, she might as well do it herself. Baby girl thrust two fingers into Leah’s p***y and scissor them before pumping her furiously while at the same time nursing her clit. Always the same. She loved getting head, really. But she also liked giving too, she much rather has a woman at her mercy than be at someone else’s. Leah found herself reaching to her nightstand and open the drawer to get her vibrator. She hid it between her breasts before landing her open hand on the girl’s head to let her know she needed to get the f**k off her. She stared at Leah in awe, and that bothered the living daylights out of her. Leah was a sweet and charming woman; she’s always been that way with her friends and family but in the bedroom… her whole demeanor changed. “Yes?” The girl asked with a sweet little tone as she licked her lips clean. “I think you should go; I have to get up early. Sorry.” She wasn’t really sorry; she couldn’t care any less about her. “But you haven’t finished.” Leah smiled with that smile she had mastered for annoying lovers, “I’m not in the mood tonight. I’ll call you.” The girl got out of bed and could barely hide the wounded expression from her pretty features. She left without saying goodbye, and Leah found herself feeling happy for the first time that night. She was ready to take a cold shower as she m*********d in the shower and read the horror book her neighbor had lent her. They had both been exchanging books since Leah helped her move in the complex two years ago. But her plans were - slightly - ruined when her cell phone started ringing. Leah smiled as she immediately recognized the melody. “Hey, you! Tired of sucking d**k already?” “Seriously? That’s how you greet people? What if I were your mom instead?” Tana laughed on the other end of the line. Leah shrugged as she sat down on the floor cross-legged. “Hard to say, we rarely speak.” “What happened now?” “Same old, same old.” She hated discussing family matters, even with Tana. She knew Tana only wanted to make sure her best friend was alright. “When will you tell them? They will find out sooner or later, you know?” “When they do I’ll deal with it. Who knows, I might as well have an alien ship abduct me while I chase cows in a corn field.” “Wow! You’ve got it all figured it out, huh?” “Of course!” Leah winked even though Tana couldn’t see her, “What’s up?” “I wanted to ask you… have you spoken to anyone about your movie?” “No, why? Only people involved in the project know about it. You know how I work.” Hadn’t Tana learned all of this already? Had she forgotten? But Leah noticed how her friend’s voice dragged a strange kind of weight. “Because” her voice lowered to a soft whisper, “someone called me today. This person knew that you were working on a movie with me.” That set off alarms in her head. But how? She had learned through the years that trust was not enough, therefore she had retorted to use the power of an NDA to keep her protected. Not only her, but the safety and wellbeing of her crew was crucial for her. “Who called you?” “Some guy named Richard. You know him?” “The only Richard I know, works in starbucks and always gives me a muffin whenever I go for my girly drink.” “I’m serious!” “So am I! And? What else did he say?” “Well… he said he wanted me to star in a movie. His movie. He said he’s also onto that method you’re using right now.” “Ah, balls-in-the-air kind of guy. I see. And?” “I don’t know what to do.” “Have you met him yet?” “No, no. We only talked on the phone. I’m supposed to meet him tomorrow,” she said, “and he’s going to tell me more through lunch.” Leah wondered if Tana still wanted to remain an actress. Tana really had no need to work as Madox had enough money to exist twenty more times on this planet. At first Leah thought that Tana enjoyed making movies. But as the years passed, she realized that her friend was no longer having fun. Tana always discussed her work decisions with Madox but apparently, this time, she had come directly seeking for her best friend’s advice. “What did he offer you? Is the money good?” “Is not about the money. He said it was a one of a kind opportunity.” “Wow, sounds as if he’s offering you the most delicious chocolate in the world!” “Leah…” “Fine! I’ll behave! Well, you know me. If you’re really interested, then go ahead and do your thing. Conquer the world. But do not go alone to the meeting.” “Don’t be ridiculous! I can take care of myself.” “I don’t doubt it, those acrylic look deadly. Let me go with you. I kind of want to meet this guy.” “No way. I’ll just ask Madox to come with me.” “Okay but, don’t let him interfere for you. I know the guy means well, really, however you’re a grown ass woman. You don’t need him to keep managing your career.” “What makes you think everything’s up to him?” “Just, promise me.” She new Tana was extremely defensive when it came to discussing her relationship with Madox. Madox wasn’t a monster, on the contrary. One of the things Leah truly liked about him was how much he cared for her best friend. There was nothing in this world Tana didn’t want that he wouldn’t get for her. However, he always had his nose sniffing up in Tana’s job. Leah hated that. “Fine. I promise.” And with that Leah felt better. Now she could spend the rest of her night like the lazy cat she was.
