As Samantha looked up from the crimson pool around her. Huge sharp clawed paws stood in front of her. Her gaze following up the thick muscular legs, past the wide chest into the glowing emerald eyes of the largest wolf she had ever seen. Its fur the colour of night, so dark you could just make it out amongst the shadows of the stone corridor. Samantha’s blood curdling scream now caught in her throat, silencing everything except for the deep breath of this massive creature. With nothing she could do, she held the gaze of the beast, her own eyes starting to feel heavy. A glint flashed over the glowing emeralds, and the sound of a mans voice rang deep as if it were her own thought.
“Sleep.” As Samantha started to question where the voice came from her eyes finally gave to the weight and everything faded to black.
“Uhhh.” Samantha rolled over, the bright light shining through the window, re-aggravating her migraine. She grabbed the pillow from under her head and covered it instead. She took in a sharp breath bolting up, whipping away the pillow and the satin covers. The quick movement sent her to her knees from pain and dizziness . She clutched her head as the dizziness started to fade. This time more slowly she stood back up using the bed side table as support. Looking around the small room, taking in the rustic features, simple yet elegant. There was only the basic bedroom furniture. Walking past the bed to the window she winced as she glanced outside, the sun shining bright through endless amounts of luscious green leaves. As Samantha gazed at the beautiful shades of green, a picture of bright glowing emerald eyes shot through her mind. Backing away from the window she turned her direction towards the door. She had to figure out where the hell she was. Gripping and turning the brass handle, with a tug, disappointment and frustration set in. Locked.
None of this made any sense. So many questions ran through her mind. Who were the people who took her? We’re they really after her parents? More importantly why the hell had her parents lied to her and never told her she was adopted? She had never even suspected. Her mother had white hair from albinism. So she had always thought thats where she got her hair from. She was tall like her father. The only thing that stood out was her ice blue eyes. But she never thought anything of it as her grandmother had blue eyes.
As Samantha pondered all of this she made her way back to the window. She was going to get out of here and get some answers. Just as she reached the window the door flung open. There stood the biggest man Samantha had ever seen. His shoulders wide and arms with rippling muscles. He wore dark denim jeans, and his black shirt hugged his body tight. She could see his abs were just as sculpted as his arms. His dark brown hair fell to his shoulders. His angled jaw covered by a shadow of stubble.
Blood rushed to her cheeks as Samantha met his eyes. Obviously caught looking this man up and down. Just as quickly as the blood rushed to her cheeks, she paled just as fast. She remembered those eyes. They belonged to the wolf from that night. But that wouldn’t make sense unless she were living in a fairytale. Her blood ran colder as he spoke.
“Who are you, and why are the rogues after you?” It was the same voice she had heard in her head.
“Well don’t just stare woman! Answer me!” He growled sending shivers down her spine. The shivers quickly erupted to annoyance.
“I could ask you the same question! Who the hell are you? Where am I and what are you talking about rogues?” Samantha asked irritated folding her arms staring him dead in the eyes. She wasn’t going to put up with his bossy tone. She had been kidnapped, beaten, and dragged to only god knows where. Needless to say she was not in the mood to put up with anymore. He walked closer to her and took a deep breath in.
“Listen here. I didn’t have to save you from the Rogues, so don’t make me regret that decision. Let’s try this again. Who are you and why are the rogues after you?” He asked again like he was trying to hold back his anger. Samantha huffed and took a step towards him still holding eye contact. She wasn’t going to be intimidated. Even if he did save her she had answers she needed too.
“Look I am grateful for your help, but I have no idea who those lunatics were or why they kidnapped me. Now please, where am I, and who are you?”
