KIRAZ'S POV

"Yes, We have a team on ground, they'll conduct a survey on the issue, ask people and get back to me, it'll be resolved soon".

"Are you sure? Miss Kira!

"I have💯trust in my team and you trust me, so kindly trust in the team I created, they'll identify and effectively solve the problem".

"Very well then, I'll wait patiently".

"Okay, well then, goodbye sir, the data will be collated and then sent to you soon enough, have a nice day sir, goodbye".

I end the virtual call after a final wave and just groan, I've been so busy with meetings all day, I miss my Honey and Bunny. I sigh and call my assistants Camella and Alexra to know what's left on my schedule.

"Camella and Alexra, hello lovelies" then I wave, it's also a virtual call.

"Good Afternoon Boss, I wish you a happy and stressless day".

"Please tell me I'm already done for the day and besides you both know it's already stressful🙄".

"You have two more meetings and then you're done for the day".

"Good, because my babies need their spa day".

Spa day basically means through scrubbing of both Honey and Bunny but mostly the trimming of Honey's claws, that's been delayed enough, I sigh and look at my room's couch which he has turned into his personal scratching post, he also needs a new scratching post, so I guess that one's on me.

"Boss, Boss, BOSS, BOSS, BOSSSSSSSSS!".

"YESSSS, Sorry, I was lost in thought, let's get the meeting started!".

"Yes Ma".

"Wait, Camella and Alexra, What about the contract?

"What contract?(Camella)

"Don't play dumb with me, we were supposed to get a response today, in the morning, we're already in the afternoon, spill it now!!".

"Okayy, Ma'am, we didn't get the contract". (Alexra)

"Why? Did they at least give us a valid reason? We're the ones with the highest bid and materials, Why did this happen?".

"Ma'am, the meeting is supposed to start soon. (Alexra)"

"Why don't you focus on that for now? we'll get back to this later". (Camella)

"Alexra and Amella, Who's the boss? You or me".

"I'm sorry ma". They both both apologise simultaneously.

"There's no actual valid reason why we lost the contract and the company that won wasn't even in the race they just joined three days ago, also...."

Alexra couldn't complete her sentence because Amella hits her and give her some kind of signal, and the entry of her signal welcomed the exit of my patience.

"Camella, I think, actually no, Camella exit this room or you're fired, you work for me and when I need info, your job is to give me when or how I need it. Do you understand?".

"Yes ma, I'm so sorry ma".

Then she exits the room, and Alexra continues.

"Ma'am, the contract went to a company named Thorne corp, and their bid was even lower than ours, the contract only went to them because it's an exchange from one Alpha to another".

"Ha". those words earned a sarcastic chuckle from me.

"So, I lost to someone that wasn't originally in the race and that's also because of the familiarity among those wolf bastards"

"Ma'am, this is why I wasn't going to tell you until you were done with all of your meetings today".

"Alexra, push back those meetings, set a meeting with Box corp, I need to say a few words to their CEO, about this 'Thorn' in my side".

"Ma'am, it's actually Thorne, and their own Thorne actually means protection, I checked and also the CEO also said he doesn't want to work with us in that industry anymore but we can still collaborate in other sectors and asked that you kindly don't contact him".

"Okayy, I've heard enough".

I quickly grab my car keys and head for the door of my room when Alexra shouts

"He also said that even if you go to his company, he's not currently in the country and won't be for a while as he's relocating".

Those words stop me and I let out a loud scream to express my great frustration, my scream brings my babies to the door, I quickly move to open the door for them and hug both of them.

"Were you worried, mummy's ok".

I say fighting back my tears, wolves, especially Alphas(Their leaders) have done enough damage to my life and those of others as well, I won't let wolves or even the concept of mates harm me ever again, I grab a hankie, I dry my face, drink some water, and decide to at least conclude my work for today, there's no point dwelling on spilt milk, but I most definitely won't forget this Thorne corp.

"Alexra, let's get back to it, my meetings, are they still on?".

I just realised how much time I've wasted, that's not very efficient or good, I've already lost one contract, I can't lose another.

"I contacted them to give us a thirty-minutes break before the meeting and that you'll be ready soon after that, also ma, I'm so sorry, I was planning to tell you after the meeting, I'm so sorry, you can dock my pay, that'll show you that I'm really sorry". (Camella)

Camella enters the room and apologises for her mistakes, I'm glad the meetings are still on though.

"Ok then, let's start the meeting, I'll forgive your mistake this time and leave you with just a warning, don't make this same mistake again".

I move closer to my system and tap accept to begin the virtual call, I see Mr John's face and I'm about to greet him with my best professional smile when my system suddenly goes blank, tf!!!. Great, technology is against me too, I think, reaching for the power button.

Then, it flickers back to life. But it’s not the friendly, balding Mr. John that I'm supposed to have a meeting with, instead, it's, it's, it's,it's a man, an extremely handsome man, he’s sitting in a high-backed leather chair, looking like a king on a throne. His dark hair is a mess of expensive-looking chaos, brushed to the back but it's kind of rough, with some strands falling from the side, it's clearly from his hand constantly touching it, and his shirt, it's the darkest shade of black ever but his eyes, dear Lord, are even more striking, green eyes that remind me of the forest on a rainy day, while I'm in a purple blazer staring or maybe even drooling at this gorgeous man, damn, my breath hitches.

"He looks so nice".

Those words escape my mouth before I could control it. s**t!!!.
