HATE FOR MATES AND WEREWOLVES

CHAPTER 2

VALEN'S POV

BEEP

BEEP

I quickly grab my phone to stop the alarm, i was already awake after the first "beep", my extra sensitive wolf ears wouldn't be able to take another beep if I didn't stop the alarm on time, but it's the fastest way to wake me up so, i have no choice. I sit up in my bed thinking about my future, about my life as an Alpha, a very sad Alpha without his mate. I sigh and decide to get ready as i'm not just responsible for myself but also for my pack members who need their strong and supportive Alpha.

I freshen up then head outside to look for my Beta—my best friend Damian. He's more of a brother as there are no secrets between us and we were practically raised together, he was there for every milestone of my life and I was there for his as well. From my first shift, to my training, to my passage of rites ritual, and my eventual transition to Alpha from the Alpha's heir, he watched and supported me through all this and I supported him as well like good old partners.

I smile then step outside, where I find him already waiting in front of my house.

"Good morning Alpha"

"Morning Damian"

"So, What's the plan for today Valeeeeen"

"Don't call me that Damiiiiiiii"

We both start laughing and then we start walking, while I make my steps hurried so he'd have to run to catch up to me.

"Gosh, you're petty Valen"

"I have no idea what you mean, I'm simply walking" .Then I pick up the pace even more leaving him with no other option than to run.

"You're so mean, Valeeeeen, What's the plan for today though?"

"We're going to tour the grounds, meet the people and check the pack security, and also stop exaggerating!"

"I wonder how mum would feel if she found out that you worked me to the point of me fainting, I'm sure she would be 'thrilled' to find out that you've such a bad boss to me, a beloved member of this pack!!"

That's basically how close we are, his mom is my mom and my mom is his, both of them raised us together, I chuckle and then respond.

"I wonder how the pack would feel if they found out that their Beloved Beta is out of shape, and that he simply fainted from just a small run"

He just rolled his eyes, my friend has always been dramatic and then he got worse when he found his mate and she constantly fanned his flames by encouraging his childish behaviour but both of them are children so I honestly don't expect much from either of them. Damian's mate is named Stella and she is a welcome addition to the pack, a good pack member and assistant, she is also like his little sister which gives her the leverage to constantly tease him alongside Damien, those two are just made for each other.

"Ok, fine, you win, come on let's go".

This stops my trip down memory lane and then I watch as he picks up his pace and runs ahead of me making me chuckle, today is already such a nice day.

We move around the pack and talk to my people, everyone approaches us easily, being an alpha is a huge responsibility and as my father always says "An Unapproachable Alpha is a piece of garbage and not an actual leader"

We listen to the numerous praise and complaints, some worrying about me not having a mate, an obviously sensitive issue for me but I simply sigh and we move on. We checked pack security as well and everything is in place, although we haven't gone everywhere as my pack is wide, but we have covered a lot of ground and I'm also drenched in sweat from the sweltering sun. I'm thinking of telling everyone to move inside with me when Stella, my pack' delta and Damian's mate interrupts through our mind link (Every pack important non verbal means of communication) that she has important news.

"Stella, What's going on?"

"Boss, we got the contract"

"And that's important news because??"

Who would dare refuse me in the first place? The contract was as good as ours in the first place.

"Boss, there's a shortage of Materials, A company called Black corp maxed purchased the available supply according to the records I could get my hands on, we can't work on the contract without those materials and the next batch will arrive in one month or two weeks max but we'll clearly be behind schedule by a lot then and it'll clearly affect our credibility in front of our clients, I'm panicking because this is our first time working with these people, it could negatively affect the reputation of the company"

"Stella, Calm down ok, set up a meeting with Black corp, I'll resolve it"

"But what if they don't sell, they have a reputation for being rigid, I don't want us to lose this contract"

"Stella, we won't, calm down"

"But Black Corp"

"Stella, Who am I?

"The Boss man"

"Exactly, I'm also extremely handsome, charming and sexy, send the profile of the company to me, I'll handle it, also make the meeting virtual, I can't travel yet, there's still a lot of pack work to do"

"Cocky much"

"I heard that"

"Bye boss, I'll set up the meeting, greet my baby bear for me"

"Bye".

I groan, of course, she's also rubbing the fact that she has a mate in my face, although I don't think she's lucky, Damian ain't exactly something to boast about, he's a capable Beta but he's got quite a few screws loose, that's for sure.

Anyways, I'll think about this later, I have work to do.

"Guys, let's move inside".

Then we move to one of the pack houses and continue the meeting.
