“I-I should leave!” Still feeling like she was in a nightmarish stance, Anna put the dog down on the ground and watched as it hobbled away on it’s three un-hurt feet towards it’s mistress. Who was standing in the garden, stilled in shock.
“Oh-Nonsense!” The old man pulled her forwards with a friendly pat on her back. “You carried that monster all the way back here, just to help me and I haven’t even thanked you properly! Sit down – have a cup of coffee with me, which is going to be the Americanised version of course. Because, I absolutely hate that thick surgery coffee that they drink here. God! It tastes more like some kind of syrup than actual coffee!”
