Chapter 3: Remembering You

4250 Words
Thomas’s POV:   I repeated. Please, not again. he said, putting down the book on the table. I asked, trying to remain uncleared. he replied, walking out of the shade and just stood at the edge of the cliff that overlooks the valley, with his back on me. I told him, running out of logical excuse. he responded, he turned around, then disappeared. Where does he go? I felt like the crown prince doesn’t change a bit. He might look younger, but he could speak any languages he previously learnt only by reading the books in the language he used to read. As well as his precious ability, teleportation and invisibility. He just didn’t remember about us, except that one particular human. When I went back inside the small building, I sensed his coming. I knew he would eventually find us here, in Socotra. I bowed to the king as he entered without his guards. he asked,  he looked around. I told him, I added. Nicholas stared at me, I replied. he asked, looking around the old house. I replied. The crown prince asked for another night before seeing her mother. he said after taking a seat, he added. the crown prince chimed in. Nicholas stood up and opened up his arms, “Brother! Do you remember about me?” he smiled. The crown prince stood still, “I don’t remember, but,” he took a glance at me, “You must be the twin brother as you have exactly the same face like mine, except you’re older> he uttered. Nicholas dropped off his arms. he came to pat the crown prince’s shoulder, he asked. The crown prince stared at his brother and they disappeared together. For the sake of ancestors.   Kimberly’s POV:   When my eyes met his, I uncontrollably cried. Why did he torture me like this? He hugged me on the bed and that was when I realized that we were still on the plane. Did he want to show me off his power? That he could do anything? “Why? For what?” asked, feeling too weak and dizzy to fight him. he simply replied. I weakly pushed away his chest, “Nicholas, what should I do? Tell me. If you don’t kill me, I will kill myself instead,” I told him, feeling hopeless. he cupped my cheeks, he said, staring into my eyes. “I don’t love you, Nicholas,” I braced myself to tell him. I probably could before the monster inside of him rose.   he coldly told. I just lost at my words. he pushed me down the bed and raised my arms above my head. Alexander? he said, caught my attention. Is he alive? he said, lightly kissed my ear and licked the earlobe, he kissed my lips, then made soft and slow bites around my neck. It felt good, but the thought of seeing Alexander with my current condition, broken and tainted, made me cry. I don’t want to meet him! I was crying harder when Nicholas was petting my crotch with his bulging crotch. He suddenly released my hands and got off the bed. he stared at me with annoyed look. øøøøø   Beware with your mouth. I lied to mom about Nicholas being abusive and now it became reality. I looked at my reflection from the bathroom mirror for the last time and went out. Nicholas offered after I returned to my seat. I told him without second thought. He stared at me, he told, he continued to scroll down with his laptop. Are you kidding? he scolded me, staring at me coldly. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. he said. I quickly got up and left him, feeling ashamed. he made another threat when I closed the bedroom suite door. Oh, God. What kind of life I’ve been living? I looked through the window, it obviously the night time. We were flying in the direction of Europe at first and I would have plenty time to rest, yet I was too afraid to sleep. I always have erotic dream about Alexander. I pushed the call button as I don’t want to get out of this bedroom suite anymore except when he wanted me to. They must have needle and thread here. øøøøø   I was passing a wire through the eyelet of two circles of sewing needles stuck into a block when the elevator door opened. “Patrick!” I dropped off my microsurgery training kit and ran to him, holding his arms, feeling excited after almost a week with no one to talk as all of humans around me have been compelled to do as orders. But wait a minute, how did he find me here? “Kimberly, are you alright?” he asked me, holding my hands. His face seemed like almost feeling sorry to see rather than happy. “I’m okay,” I told him, weakly smiling, “Patrick, are you… alright? How did you get here?” I curiously asked. He released my hands and stood by the glass windows facing to indoor swimming pool. “Kimberly, you’re so thin,” he turned at me, “You look… beautiful yet sad,” he smiled. “Well, thank you,” I replied, “Your eye bags are looking good too,” I tried to lighten up the situation, knowing that our world has fallen apart. “Did he treat you well?” he softly asked after sitting on the couch next to mine. Kind of strange thing to ask first. I sighed, “How did you get here, Patrick?” I repeated my question. He stared into my eyes, “I’m here because I failed you, Kimberly. I didn’t look for your brother…” “It’s alright, Patrick. I knew the situation was horribly wrong at that time and my brother is alright,” I quickly cut him off, so that he wouldn’t feel burdened up. I guess. “So, Alexis is safe. That’s a relief,” he exhaled, “But I want to come up clean with you. I was the one who called to let them know that you were in Iceland,” he told. “Them?” I asked in confusion. What’s he talking about? “Kimberly, Senator Benjamin Knight’s wife, Lady Sarah Frumos, is one of them, and I called her because they were looking for you, so I turned you in,” he admitted. Oh, God. “What was the reason, Patrick?” I asked, trying to stay calm. “My family has been a loyal ally for very long time, even before my grand father was born. I tried to get away with family tradition until they specifically asked me to “Were you the man seven years ago?” I asked. He nodded, ”I was.” “Did you set up our first meeting or even the show for them?” I asked again. “No, I really didn’t know anything about you, not until the show. I thought they called me to get you out of the spotlight, but they just warned me to stay away from you,” he said. “But why?” I asked, noticing that he really seemed like having severe sleeping disorder. “They knew that I like you,” he said. Oh. “Never mind, Patrick. It’s all in the past. You did what you had to do for the sake of your family,” I smiled, “He would find me anyway,” I added, realizing that my tears started to blur out my eyes. I killed Detective Cole, at least I didn’t make Patrick killed. “Kimberly, I’m so sorry,” he kneeled before me. I quickly asked him to stand up, holding his arms up, “Patrick, please don’t do this. I understand and I don’t blame you,” I told him. “I thought, he would take care of you, but seeing you right now, I realized I made a huge mistake. Please, forgive me, Kimberly,” he took my hands and kissed them. “No, please stand up, Patrick,” I removed my hands from his grip and tried to pulled his shoulders but he’s way to heavy. Patrick took a seat back. “Did he treat you well?” he softly asked, examining my face. Should I tell him? I don’t want to burden him more, but I really need someone to talk to. I sighed, “He raped me, Patrick. My first time was a nightmare I wish I could forget,” I sighed, wiping off my tears with the handkerchief he gave. It felt like déjà vu. “Your first time? Were you a virgin?” he asked with a surprise. I nodded. “I thought my family have been dead, so I tried to take my life, but apparently I’m not allowed to die yet,” I chuckled, but my tears were rolling down my cheeks. “Oh, Kimberly,” he hugged me. Suddenly Patrick’s body was snatched from me and thrown into the heated swimming pool, then Ivan put the poor man’s head down in the water. I quickly jumped myself and tried to help Patrick while he was struggling to come up the surface. “Ivan, you’re going to kill him!” I hit his back. He just stood still and held down Patrick. I tried to remove his hands from Patrick, but I just couldn’t. “Ivan, remove your hands now! Please!” I cried out, then suddenly my feet felt numb and I began to struggle to keep my head on the water. Ivan removed his hands off Patrick and carried me out of the pool. “Put me down!” I yelled at him angrily. I saw Patrick managed to come up the surface and swam up to the pool’s “What’s wrong with you?” I hit Ivan’s arm when he dropped me down. I sat up as my feet was feeling painful when I tried to stand up. “Patrick, are you alright?” I asked him. “Yes, I’m okay,” he replied and then coughed. “My lady, I’m just following the order,” he pointed to the surveillance camera in the corner of the So, he’s been watching and eavesdropping! “Give me your phone and call him now,” I asked him. He pulled out wet black mobile phone from his pocket suit and dialled a number. “I sent him there to be your company, but if you couldn’t behave properly, I guess you should see him dead to get the lesson,” Nicholas said through the phone as soon as Ivan gave it to me. “Please, no more killing. I’ll do whatever you want. Just don’t kill anyone, please,” I begged. I really wanted to swear the filthiest words I know, but it would only trigger worse madness of him. “Baby, I will f**k you in front of him and there’s nothing he can do to stop me, if you do it again,” he ended his call. I threw away the phone into the pool.   Nicholas’s POV:   Swollen eyes, pale skin, thin, and obviously feeling miserably unhappy. I stared at her, sleeping on her seat, covering her chest with her arms, in cold as her blanket was falling down on her lap. I got up and fixed her blanket when she opened her eyes. She stared in confusion at first before her heartrate increased rapidly out of fear. Real ungrateful b***h. I ignored her annoying behaviour and brought the blanket up to her neck. She was thinking about the safety of her family and everyone she left in Bali and Hornafjörður. “Where’s Dylan?” she hoarsely asked. The first thing she woke up, after I fixed her blanket, was not ‘thank you’ but another man’s name. She keeps getting on my nerve. I harshly raised her chin to get face on face I glared at her. She closed her eyes. Tears started rolling down her cheek. I ordered her. She opened her teary blue eyes, but her mind told me that she was just asking if that human is still alive and did not understand why I kept getting angry with her. She needs to know her place. I ordered to the pilot as we were cruising at forty five thousand  feet above the ground. I grabbed her arm and took her to the emergency exit door as the plane was plummeting rapidly. She started screaming and wildly hit my arm when I was opening the emergency exit. The compartments of oxygen mask were opened as the door was opened and the plane . I held her body tight against my chest so that she wouldn’t get sucked out of the plane. I jumped off the plane and floating, watching the plane was shaking and moving up and down with the bumps in the wind. I have few seconds before it get crashed. I ordered her as she wrapped around my neck tight and her legs straddled my waist.     “I… can’t breathe,” she said, nearly pass out, in fear and running out of oxygen. I dropped her and she passed out before I could say anything. What a bummer. I quickly carried her in my arms and came back inside the plane, then closed the door. I took the nearest oxygen mask and put it on her. øøøøø   She’s not pregnant. There was disappointment in my cold heart, knowing that she has her period. Unlike humans might feel about menstrual blood, we-vampires love humans during their menstrual period. The blood is strangely tastier. I asked. “Yes, Your grace. The princess has arrived there too,” he replied. Now, that little witch is quick. Mother ought to know that I had no intention to kill my father. The pain triggered me to do it and not just physically, but mentally. Didn’t he realize that I was bound with my brother? How could he only think to hurt one while he actually hurt two? He knew that Kimberly is destined to be the mother of my children, yet he wanted to kill her, destroying my whole plan. Couldn’t mother see it before? øøøøø   I offered, examining his reaction. he quickly replied with a disgust. Stupid brother. I insisted.  Kimberly will be broken. I smirked, I pointed to a hidden tent by the natural infinity pool that was perched on the sheer edge of a steep drop with the Arabian sea just to the north beyond. Within a second, he already teleported to get the human before me. He’s more savage and competitive. He could be a real threat only if he cares a little about our family and the throne, but harmless so far. Trying to kill him would even endanger my position considering his power and that he has no emotional attached to us and sees us as complete strangers rather than family. Even our telepathic range has decreased a lot. We could only communicate within fifty kilometres. I tried to find his weaknesses, but found nothing and that was a real pain in my ass. I’m just glad that he didn’t remember anything about her.   Alexander’s POV:   my brother said, throwing the dead human body in the bushes. I shrugged. he teased me. I replied, jumping over a big rock overlooking the beach that was lit with blue bioluminescent plankton. he said, making a higher jump. I asked, teleported to his side. he told, taking a long leap onto the great granite wall towering over the shores. I told him, taking a longer leap and teleported back to Homhil, just below the little house we were staying. Why didn’t he tell me something when I told him about a woman I saw during my ectogenesis state? he patted my shoulder after two minutes, he exhaled, he widely smiled. I asked back, smelling the fresh blood down the hillside. he boasted.   I told him, licking my fangs. my brother said. I curiously asked, knowing him didn’t fit any profile as human lover. he stared at me. A human will be a consort queen for king of all vampires? and slaves. he reminded me. Uncle Thomas briefly explained as Lady Veronika was a human mate. he continued. Is Madeline my mate, the woman I met while I was in the isolation tank? I told. I’ll take the child, my brother can take the old man. he said. I raised my eyebrow. Why would I see a human? he told. Now I want to see Madeline.   Patrick’s POV:   I watched her crying and cursing the most feared name on earth, responsible for the death of millions of innocent people.   What have I done? I never thought that she would endure suffering life with him. I can’t save her nor myself. I quietly stood up and left. “Patrick!” Kimberly called me out, but the door was closed and the elevator took me down. I don’t want to inflict trouble nor being used to hurt anyone, especially her. The guards stood still downstairs, staring at me coldly. As I stepped out of the building, I quickly went to my car and drove out of the estate without looking back. The road was quite, but not empty. People with microchips were doing their chores like robots, families were separated, either being killed if they didn’t meet qualification or simply captured in underground facilities before they were traded as slaves for the noble vampires or sent to Australia for their largest blood bank, to be cattle. There’s only one Television station for each region and they could only broadcast how the situations were being managed, mostly with violence, to spread fear among the survivors. If they still exist.   My family, just like The Guinevere and other loyalist, thought that we could live normally, but the reality is that we also were living in fears when they started to kill our house keepers and tagged us, just like everyone else. The only privilege we have is we may buy slaves from the auction and work for them. I had enough with all of these unspeakable madness. øøøøø   Just one small leap and I’ll be free. “You’re going to regret after two seconds and wish some kind of magic hands will save you before your body hits the ground,” a voice startled me from behind. I turned around, seeing a man in a black jacket with hoodies. “You’re one of them,” I responded, seeing how ashen he was. “I’m better than them,” he boasted, showing off his fangs and they’re different than vampire’s, more like wolf’s canines with four on the top and four others on the bottom of the jaw. He’s the one that they were looking for, the hybrid werewolf, Kimberly’s boyfriend. “So, you knew. You really are their loyal servant,” he scoffed and came closer. He reads my mind. I stood still, because one more step back, I would freefall from over nine hundred feet. “Do you want to kill me?” I asked, “You should just stand there and watch,” I added, carefully turning my back on him. “If you want to die as a coward, then just die, but I’m here offering you a way to save her,” he spoke. I closed my eyes. “They will kill my family, even my newly born niece,” I whispered, feeling cold as the wind blew my shawl earlier. “And to save your family, if they want to,” he continued. “I’m going to be tagged tonight,” I told him. I’ll get caught easily. They would hypnotize us, so that we wouldn’t know the exact location of the four-nanometer wide microchip planted in our body. “I can remove it and you can simply carry or leave it anytime,” he told. Now, that’s something.
