It had not taken long for the rest of the meeting members to leave, until soon they were left alone in the room. Standing a few feet from each other in the quiet as they heard the last of the stragglers exiting onto the street. The light above them had begun to flicker, illuminating the space between them that felt longer and wider to Arabella now that they were alone. She stared at him, taking in his large form before her: his black hair that had grown longer – curling around his ears and tumbling softly down his forehead. His dark eyes staring down into her own, holding her, boring into her until she felt like he was staring directly into her soul.
