Chapter Twenty: The Last Remaining piece of the puzzle To Fulfill The Ultimate Fantasy ♤♡•♤•♤ ||| •♤•♤•♡ The perception of time had left the princess in the clutches of confusion until she found herself across a murky lake and a creature of haunting beauty rose from the dark waters and showed her the wisdom in its eyes. Looking into its eyes she knew what had to be and where she had to be. It showed her that she was one step away from facing a true monster and looking into its eyes. It will only be then that her life begins and she upsets the creators of all the universe, of day and night, of light and darkness. It was in that moment that she knew that she needed eyes blessed with magic in order to see all that she has never seen but has always been around her. •♤•♤• ●|●| •♤•♤• The High Affinity gathered in their court and the first order delivered a speech. All destinies were aligning perfectly and in the present of the human realm and the place they called Earth; was the last remaining piece in the puzzle. "The girl, what is her name?" The first order inquired while staring at the floating sphere emitting a strong magnetic energy in the room. "The girl's given name is Karmin, she is yet to know of her destiny but that will happen soon. We will see it all unfold in a matter of days. The darkness within her will consume her and she will act as according to her fate." ♤•♤•♤• •♤•♤• "Shut up!" she almost yelled, scanning the faces around her ,they've all diverted their attention to the middle-aged man of tall stature demonstrating titration to us,funny she could have sworn their vindictive stares were fixated on her as she squirmed uncomfortably on her sit . "Karmin". Gosh there it is again, that voice ,who the hell is calling me? I again survey the entire classroom, everyone is watching spellbound at what they seem to think is a Chemical phenomena, so who the hell is calling me? she can't be imagining it,she wasn't insane, well everyone thought she was but she knew she wasn't, all those things she spoke of were as real as the gravity holding us down to the earth. The soft tender voice has been calling out my name since this morning,at first she responded only for it to keep silenced and draw people's attention to me,darn people giving me is that girl talking to herself look, pity for insanity to plague her at such a young age! Karmin, Karmin, Karmin, it just kept blabbering, she think it enjoys seeing me paranoid, frustrated, with every calling of my name she was becoming more and more agitated but she wouldn't dare let my frustrations get the better of me because one slip up and she would be relentlessly nauseated by the shrill smell of toxic detergents and forced to bare the solitude of the cold blue walls holding me captive. I clasped on tightly to my pens and bit my lips trying to conceal the fact that she was fraught with agitation..."calm down " she whispered to myself repeatedly, you don't want to make a spectacle of yourself, don't let it get to you."she began impatiently jerking my right leg.. "Karmin" It was the last straw, banging my hands on the table she screamed out loud enough to alarm sparrows that purged on the school buildings "What do you want from me? Tell me what you freaking want from me!" she daffed the table to the direction of the window. Oh no! panting heavily it dawned on me that she had just went on a frantic rampage, she must look like a real feral lunatic now! Everybody had drifted to the teacher's desk and were cooped up like a bunch of sardines, clutching onto each other with petrified looks on their faces, even the jocks who always portrayed a tough exterior and exerted their dominance on the small statured, feeble, skinny nerds were terrified at my accession. For a minute she froze, unsure of what to do, should she apologize? or should she just hope the tension in the air would desiccate? "I'm sorry." she let out a whimper and made a dart for the door. ●|●|●□ • The Principal's Office ●●● I took a gulp of my saliva as she braced myself for the outcome of this meeting. "Here goes nothing." she deeply exhaled before knocking on the polished wooden door with the initials Principal Faulkbird carved neatly on it. "Come in." A stern voice ordered from behind the door. I slowly turned the round door knob, thrusting my head forward to get a look before I completely got in and suddenly felt the unbearable urge to run when my eyes met those of my mother's. "You called for me Principal Faulkbird." I said finally getting in the crowded room that smelled of organic tea herbs and had trophies, medals and framed honours decorating it. "Take a sit Karmin." She gestured to a sit right beside Mr Willingfurg on who had clenched on one student's hoodie earlier today. "I take it you already know why she summoned you here." She averted her intimidating stare at me and she felt the layers of my skin depleting. 'The Dragon' is what we had named her, she had been Principal at Ducunville High for over 15 years and many of her students affirmed to have never seen a smile on that wrinkled face of hers. The three rows of folds on her forehead gave the impression that she was always angry and her drooping cheeks which had surrendered to gravity made it look like she had an infinite frown patches on her face, her even white teeth which students had presumed to be artificial and her bulging eyes illuminated the features on her very dark skin tone which previously earned her the name 'Blackforest witch' "Yes Principal Faulkenbird." "Would you care to explain why you acted the way you did and interrupted the class like that?" "I … I heard-" she couldn't bring myself to say it "You what Karmin!" My mother gave me a glare of disappointment "If you don't disclose the matter to us then how else are we supposed to tackle it?" Mr Willingfurg said in a mild tone, deeply concerned, afterall out the three he is the one who witnessed the whole rumble. "She don't know how to put this but she heard someone calling my name and she looked and did not see who it was and the voice kept on calling me and calling and calling me, she tried to ignore it but still it kept calling and she kept looking around me only to see nothing and it kept calling until she just lost it." she spoke up stretching out the emotions she had felt by making gestures with my hands. "Mmh! she see...." Principal Faulkenbird briefly pressed her thin lips together, "And when was this person calling out for you again?" "I heard it in the morning as I walking to school and then the voice kept calling me even when she was in class." Silence filled the room and my mom's eyes were teary with the same look of worry as the school authorities, she knew what they were assuming, that she was deluded, which she was not, something really was calling me! "she can tell you think I'm insane but I'm not, she wasn't imagining it you have to believe me , someone was calling out for me and just because you can't hear or see it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist! she blurted out before storming off. ■•■• | My bedroom •■•■ | She had heard before of ghost and spirits and wondered if she was gifted with psychic abilities because this occurrence was not the first of its kind. My mother told me that when she was seven she caught me playing tea party with myself but acted as though there was someone else with me, she said she kept giggling and praising my 'friend' even briefing her about my day at school, hobbies, favourite dolls and the likes. The next morning when she confronted me about it , she had not the slightest clue what she was going on about and that's when she decided she needed a psychological evaluation. Psychiatrist diagnosed me with all sorts of conditions, from Schizophrenia,to Dissociative Identity Disorder to Bipolar and had me hospitalised, gave me all sorts of pills and injections, tormented me with heaps of absurd questions, but she remained the same because the reality of the matter was she wasn't insane at all. She had heard of the Ouija Board and that you could use it to communicate with dead people or ghost and it did cross my mind to purchase it but the concept of me communicating with a spirit gave me jitters. I cradled my head in my hands trying to crack my mind assessing this enigmatic situation, maybe she was a psychic, or maybe she was in abnegation of my I mental decay, maybe I was...... "Karmin" I heard it call out again, it since had remained quiet from the moment I had a fit of rage. "Yes." I answered, tired of fighting it. "I'm really sorry." It continued to say, abruptly she jumped off the bed, intrigued, it had never gone pass calling out my name. "Who are you ?" I was quick to ask and my excitement evaporated as time surpassed without another word from it, as she gave a sigh of defeat, "You will know very soon." It said with bubbliness in its voice like it was waiting in anticipation of me finally having full enclaircissement of this contingent situation. A ridiculous question found its way to my head "I am not imagining this right?" "No you're not, I'm real, and I've always been around and will forever be. she suddenly felt a knot of apprehension retire in my stomach what did it mean it will forever be here? Yes, its voice is soothing and angelic but one may never know if behind that smooth, filtered voice lured something extremely sinister! "What do you mean, who are you? she waited for a response she had grown to get but it didn't, she felt my frustration built up. "Hello! she swayed my hands in the air," come on, she wants to talk to you ,helloooo, she just........" she immediately stiffened when she caught my mother's eye, she was standing by the half-opened door, 'How long had she been standing there?' she asked herself and watched her shake her head in disbelief as she left. Oh God there was no palliating the madman, the impression she just gave right now. She was definitely going back to that vile loony bin! ●|●|● THE KITCHEN ●|●|●● Karmin tip-toed to the kitchen and she concealed herself behind the slightly open door to eavesdrop on my mother who was currently on the phone. "Yes , they've been back for a while now Dr Hermishigh, she thought it was just a phrase but she was wrong." Oh no! she was done for, Dr Vesco Hermishigh was my psychiatrist, he is the one who has been working on my case since she was a child, he cleared me fit to go home two years ago when she was fourteen after she had been in and out of the hospital, she had been doing just 'fine' and my family was even accustomed to the 'new, sane' me and had began to erase the prospect of me ever being admitted to the psychiatric ward again from their heads. "Thank you very much Dr Hermishigh, I'll be in touch." She hung up and continued chopping some celery. she walked in and pretended my complexion didn't just bleached out in fear, she didn't want to go back there, she almost lost a piece of myself to that dark, rancid room. "Mom she can explain, I'm not mad you have to believe me, there is something really strange going on, she asked her if and she said she's real and she thin......" "Sit down."Her stern voice ordered and she realised that she was just prattling and what she just said addled if not outraged her even more. In acquiesce she pulled out a chair from the dining table and sat down, suppressing the urge to shout out my anguish at it, if it had not spoken to me none of this could have been happening. "How do you think your brother is going to react to this?" Arms folded she stared at me as though she ached to slap the hell out of me "What does he have to do with this?" Her neck muscles stiffened in rage and her eyes widened, daring me to say another word. "You tell me you have forgotten how your brother felt, that it would be better if he went to stay with that drunkard of a man he called his uncle because at home someone was pointing out knives and razors at him." She spat out, she had never seen her so livid, did she really do those things? Why can't she remember even an ounce of the horrendous things they say she did. "I'm sorry even though she doesn't rem......." she tried to show remorse but she didn't even let me finish what she was saying and continued to fume with anger. "Do you know what me and your father went through? The heartache we suffered seeing our own son terrified of living in his own home? Do you know how long it took before he finally felt he could come back home? That he would be safe and would no longer have to sleep on the edge of his bed in case something decides to strangle and mutilate him with a razor in his sleep? Do you know?" she let out an exasperated yell that made me flinch. she had not been aware that she had put them through so much woe, sure my mother wasn't as cheerful as before, my brother no longer teased me but she attributed that to growing up not because at the back of his mind he still thought she was some psycho who could s***h his throat open at any moment. The topic of my disorder rarely came up and when it did, my dad would just dismiss it and bring up another topic, so what my mother was telling me was new to my ears. I know myself, she could not even come within the ace of pulling selfless pranks let alone throttle someone in their sleep. I watched my mother pacing up and down, kaputted, trying to force my mind to remember but then my pulse speeded up and my temperature rose when she saw her dash out of the kitchen and disappear into the passage. 'Where was she going?' I was beginning to panic, judging by her state, she might just toss my luggage in front me.
