Chapter Two: Confessed Desires

The light of the moon reflected off her pale skin; a gleaming diamond of the night she was thought to be by the darkest of dark wishing to run into her light and steal her spark.

"Oh wow, how cruel of you, brother!" Princess Venia's suddenly exclaimed, a cross look setting itself on her gorgeous face.
In a show of defiance her slender arms crossed over her chest and she posed in front of him like a vengeful warrior about to brandish a sword and strike his head.
"There is no time, Beauty, I told you, your hand should remain in mine always." Prince Eclix huffed out a puff of air when his approaching hand was viciously slapped away. He really could not understand his beauty sometimes. "What is the matter now, Beauty?"
The said Beauty rolled her perfect amethyst eyes, pursing her lips as she filtered her words quickly. 'Insolence is disgraceful, a princess should never have a foul mouth.' Vye's words quickly came to her and her eyes narrowed to express her displeasure instead.
"It appears my emotions are but a toy for you to twist around. You are not taking me anywhere, are you, brother?" Oh she should have known, he had caved in too quickly, too easily.
"Not in the moment, no, you're being stubborn, Beauty, let's go before I change my mind." A warm smile played at the prince's lips as his hand was not rejected this time, although he could tell that his sister held an immense amount of skepticism. "I am a man of my word, always. You said so yourself."
"Then why does it seem to not end? I feel like we've been walking around in circles with no glimpse of the outside." For the past minutes Princess Venia's excitement had been reduced to annoyance by the sheer size of her castle.
She had never imagined it to be this big, but each step they had taken just seemed to keep demanding a thousand more and thus she came to the conclusion that her brother was playing a cruel joke on her.
"I swear you're the most impatient person I know. Come on, we do not want Vye to foil our plans." He worded his words with a clear intention to butter her up and it worked like a charm. "We go this way and don't say a word to anyone we will encounter." He warned and the princess just simply pouted her luscious lips and leaned into him as they walked.
More people. She was finally going to be exposed to others. She could barely contain her excitement. Her gait was full of grace but undoubtedly more hasty than the prince could keep up with; nonetheless their fingers remained intertwined and a beacon of hope came when she was struck by stark unfamiliarity. This interior was very different in style to the one of her castle; this aesthetic spoke to her father most definitely. His presence as well lingered in the stern atmosphere; the lone guard must have felt it definitely. At the end of a fairly decorated hallway was an imposing figure; a tall, well- amoured man of sinewy build, brilliantly erected and prepared to defend. He gazed straight ahead as though he was forbidden to move and he maintained a firm grip on his long axe.
Princess Venia's bright eyes studied him without any shyness. She was conspicuously intrigued; she had never seen a man quite like him. Prince Eclix stole side glances at her, slightly perturbed by her reaction; if that was the word. The princess appeared to be a child at a fair seeing wonders beyond her imagination and this made the prince not very confident she was prepared to step out into the world for even just five minutes.
"I'll protect her. I'd give my life before letting anything happen to her." He declared to himself and tightened his grip on her hand, holding her more protectively.
The hulking guard's head tilted, he was finally fascinated by the advancing pair. The prince he immediately recognized but as for the fair beauty clinging to his side; his eyes had never beheld such a magnificent sight. For a moment too long he was bedazzled by the princess' otherworldly gorgeousness, so much so, he failed to notice the prince's murderous, darkened eyes piercing into his own until it was too late.
In the blink of an eye, Prince Eclix's mighty hand descended upon the guard's neck with savage force and he slammed him into the wall behind him.
"Mercy, my prince." The guard implored, his reverence was indisputable but his royal master still glowered at him as though he was but a pile of rancid filth.
"Your eyes, don't you have better use for them?" The prince hissed close to his face, applying enough pressure to his throat to make him feel a pinch of death.
Princess Venia said not a word, only intrigued by the display. She saw it again; fear. The guard's cerulean blue eyes saturated with fear and watching him fear for his life introduced all sorts of strange emotions within her.
He was being throttled, of course he was not going to manage a response. Prince Eclix looked like he would suddenly so wrathfully breath fire unto his face and leave it scarred beyond recognition, so the guard was incredibly surprised when he released his neck instead.
"You will not say a word about what you saw here tonight to anyone, not even my father." Came the first order, sternly, mordantly laid.
"Yes, my prince." The guard's eyes met princess Venia's as he uttered those words and he stilled for a second. Goodness gracious were those eyes viciously hypnotising! No woman of flesh could ever be of such ravishing beauty; the prince was holding hands with a Goddess! He was convinced of this!
"Hey! I will not warn you again. If you ever lay your repulsive, lowly eyes on her again, I will rip out your throat and feed it to your mother." The prince left him with that harrowing imagination to forever scar his mind and made sure the guard's unworthy eyes take no interest in the princess' back profile until she was out of sight.
"Did you really mean it?" Princess Venia questioned once they were on the threshold. She could already feel it; the night was before her. Only two high doors of glass and golden metal stood in her way.
"Of course. I know where to find his mother." The prince simply said, his temper much calmer but his eyes still benighted by rage. "This is it, Beauty. Do not try to elude me, I must be there to protect you."
"It's just the garden, not a battlefield." Princess Venia thought to herself, successfully resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
"I promise, I will not get up to any mischief." She assured him and she meant it. If he was to sneak her out again, she needed to gain his trust. "Can you hear that? The night, it whispers, it calls for me."
Prince Eclix frowned, releasing the handle of the door. "You are not allowed to joke in that manner either."
"I am not joking, it is what I'm feeling." She wanted to tell him, but she nodded her head and mumbled, "sorry" instead. She kept forgetting that the night was such a sensitive topic to others.
A knotting feeling settled in Princess Venia's stomach as the prince opened the door at last and guided her down the stairs. The night. She was finally experiencing it. She had finally set foot outdoors. The feeling was overwhelming. A tornado of emotions tore through her and her amethyst eyes sparkled like diamonds as they were kissed by the moonlight.
"I can't believe it. I'm not dreaming. It's so wonderful." Her eyes glistened with tears as she gazed up at her brother with rapturous joy and adoration.
Infectious they were, the prince, a hardened warrior with a steel heart, found himself tearing up as well. "This is the only look worthy of you, the look of happiness. Join me for a stroll."
"With pleasure." The princess hooked her arm inside her brother's and the most delightful amble commenced.
Princess Venia felt so strange. Something was beckoning for her so fiercely it was nearly impossible to ignore. She felt a familiar stirring in her core that had her squeezing the prince's hand. She sometimes dreamt about it; the night. She sometimes felt like it was seducing her, luring her, calling for her. The feeling was so peculiar, so electrifying and thrilling that she feared she will lose control and conduct herself in ways she wouldn't have when sober of mind.
"You are strangely quiet." Prince Eclix noted. Her timid demeanour had him believing that she was afraid. "Nothing is going to happen to you. The Beast will have to kill me first before getting to you. I promise you." He kissed the top of her hand, amazed by the translucency of her flawless skin. "You glow like a deity from the skies. It's like…it's like darkness can't touch you. You're quite an attraction." He was more anxious now. Princess Venia was so painfully visible that he was getting paranoid about her being seen. It was as though he could feel many pairs of sinister, lustful eyes on her already.
"I didn't know…" The princess herself was baffled. She had always been very fair of complexion, but how was she glowing? She was wondrous lustre within the darkness of night; of course she stood out like a sore thumb. But was she fretting; not even slightly.
"The garden is so beautiful, the air caresses my skin so wonderfully, the moon is dazzling, so are the stars. Ohhh! I wish I could lay here and sleep on the grass!" She gushed. To think all these things other people took for granted. "I see a lake! I wish to drink by the lake!"
"Shhh…" The prince hushed her and quickly hid her behind a statue. "Quiet, beauty, I think we're not alone."
Princess Venia took extended out her neck and took a peek as her brother did. She was at first stunned by the sight that welcomed her and then visibly flushed and piqued. Prince Esgar and his bride rocked their nude bodies against each other with passionate vigor by the lake. The mounted lights around the lake made it possible for them to be watched like a display, but the princess' vision was so acute she could cleary make out the faces the couple were making. Esgar's lover looked to be in the throes of gratifying pleasure. The princess was very much mesmerised by their movements.
"Let's go, I'll take you to another lake." Prince Eclix appeared to be embarrassed on their behalf as ge turned them away from the scene.
"Is that his bride?" And what were they doing? She could understand it, but she did not exactly know what it meant… so why did she desire to experience it so terribly?
"Yes. Her name is Daya…you… you shouldn't have watched." The prince cleared his throat.
"Why?" She questioned with a c****d brow before she suddenly reached for his other hand and gazed deeply into his eyes. "I want to experience it, right here under the stars not in that prison."
The prince was surely taken aback but his possessive nature could not be rendered speechless. "Only a man worthy of your love should lay with you, otherwise I'll bring a sword to his neck."
"Then play with me," the princess' mellifluous voice serenaded the tranquil night, her beautiful smile made the moon blush, "I have not felt a lot of things… I just want to feel. I want to feel that joy, make me sing softly like the princess Daya was."
"It is not just any form of play, Beauty…it is... it's a matter of desire-"
"I have felt it," princess Venia interjected heatedly. "a burning desire, a longing for touch, a throbbing heat that awakens in my stomach-"
Prince Eclix's frown deepened, "You have? For who?"
Her words came in a soft whisper; bashful she was to reveal herself this way. "For you, in some of my imaginations, when you gaze into my eyes… and for Vye… when she massages me, when she insists on helping me dress, when she breathes close to me. When her soft hands rub sweet oil into my back, she's so attentive, her touch is so delicate yet so powerful… it makes me long for her… the same way I long for you in this moment." She confessed boldly. This was her moment, when was an opportunity like this going to arise again?
"Beauty.." The prince uttered softly, the depth of his voice charming to her ears. "You know there is nothing I'd ever deny you, but you are not my bride and I am not yours."
"I must wait to be engaged?! Why? We both know marriage is a fantasy I will never experience." She stated bitterly. Was this his way of rejecting her? "You don't want me to feel?"
"I do. But one day you will give yourself to your husband and he'll love you as you desire and wish to be loved."
Princess Venia yanked her arms free, her scowl deepening. "You wish me to turn to bones and dust waiting for a man who'll never be born yet you can love me the same. Fine, I suppose I'll always only ever have the man of my dreams.. dreams that will never feel real enough."
The man of her dreams, at least he always made her feel. Even without a face she could describe and a body she could fully make out; he always made her feel. If he were real, she'd throb for him, she would desire him the most.
