Chapter 5To say that the club was crowded would be an understatement. A serious understatement. So many bodies were packed into the space, Patrick wondered if it was some sort of fire hazard. Techno music pulsated around them, and bright blue and red lights flashed over the sweating, writhing dancers. Waitresses weaved expertly through the bodies, trays of drinks held high over their heads. It would take some sort of miracle to find a spot on the dance floor. But, for that weekend, Patrick believed in miracles. He tightened his grip on Cass’s hand and dragged her into the depths of the crowd, shouldering his way between the bodies.
