Chapter 20

2955 Words
I woke up the next to an insistent banging on the door, with my hand between my legs, and my mind begging my body to go back to the world where I was free to dream of Lucas and all the things I wished he would do to me. "Chris...Chris," Abby's tiny voice rings through my brain, and I forced my eyes open. I let out a breath, and rubbed my eye, before dragging myself off the bed. "Chris," bang bang bang "What is it," I cried, in annoyance at my unconventional wake up call and pulled the door open. I stepped out of my room, to see both kids, smiling happily like they could wait to share what was on their minds. Somehow they're both dressed, but I do not need to ask who dressed them. Aidens button is done completely wrong, and Abby's dress is inside out. "It's today!" they yelled in unison. "What is today?" I asked, confused. "Grammy and pop-pop, it's today," they cried happily. "Oh yeah," I said in realization, still trying to figure out why they were up so early just for the visit. Before I had the chance to react, their little hands grabbed mine and pulled me down the hallway. "We have to get ready," Abby said, hand never leaving mine. "Grammy does not like it when we're late," Aiden added. I did not bother trying to resist their pull as they took me down the hallway into their room, they seemed too excited this morning. I walked into their room, and my eyes widened at the total mess they made. There were clothes all around, the bookshelf was completely turned upside down, and there were soap trails leading from the bathroom where I could hear the water running. "Oh my God!" I yelled, and rushed into the bathroom, to find the tub filled with lather and water, "what happened here?" "We were trying to get ready, and forgot to turn off the tap," Aiden admitted, as they both looked at me from the doorway. I pushed my way through the lather trying to find the tap to turn off the water. "I think the tap is broken," Abby whispered. "What is broken?" Lucas asked, I could not see him from the bathroom, but I could hear his voice at the room door, and from the sound of it, he was not happy either. "Uh-oh," they whispered. "Nothing," I called from the bathroom, as I turned off the tap. In a second, he was inside the bathroom, "what is happening here?" he cried. I pushed my way through the lather, half aware of my soaked nightdress, and the way it stuck to my body. "Same thing I asked," He stood behind the kids, wide-eyed, with his eyes lingering on my n*****s, which were now visibly poking through the damp dress. I cleared my throat quickly, and he snapped back, "Um..." he cleared his throat. "What's going on," he managed to tear his eyes away from my body, and looked down at the kids. "Aiden, Abigail?" "We wanted to get dressed quickly so Chris would not have to worry about dressing us up," Abby said guiltily with her eyes looking down I took a deep breath, trying to calm my voice, not to scare them, "Kids, you know you don't have to worry about that, I'm here to worry about taking care of you." "We just wanted to help," Aiden said in a small voice too, "we're sorry." "Well that's not going to fix your room that's in such a mess," Lucas snapped, and my eyes shot to his, pleading with him to calm down. "And how is there so much lather in the tub?" his eyes darted around angrily. "We wanted to take a bath too," Aiden whispered. "On your own?" his eyes widened in horror, his voice was a little higher than before, and I could hear the worry and concern in it, any other person would have seen an angry father, but I could only see a father that was worried about what could have happened to his little babies. They nodded slowly, unable to meet his eyes. "And what have I said about doing that?" he asked, trying to keep his voice low, but I could still see the vein tick in his jaw. "We're not old enough to take a bath on our own," they said in unison. "Well, I'm glad you remember that because I'm canceling our trip today." without waiting for them to express their sadness, he shoved his hand in his pocket, and headed for the door. I looked down at the kids. Abby was on the brink of tears, and Aiden looked like the ground would open up and swallow him any moment. As upset as I was for the state of the room, I still felt Lucas was a little harsh with their punishment, and my mind raced with thoughts of how to make him see that, without undermining his decision. "Hey," I crouched down on my knees next to them, "Your daddy is just a little upset right now, I'm sure he'll rethink his decision if he's calmer." "He won't. Daddy never changes his mind when he's upset." Abby's voice was barely a whisper, and she refused to meet my eyes. "He will when he sees how much you wanted to help." I held them closer to me and tilted my head to see their faces. "Are you not mad at us?" Aiden asked, almost surprised. "I am, but since I know you were only trying to be good kids, I'll let it slide." I smiled reassuringly. "But daddy is really upset." "That's because he does not want anything bad to happen to you. That's why he does not want you taking a bath on your own yet." "We're sorry," Abby said. "I know you are, but you have to promise me, you won't do this again. If you do, I'll see if I can help talk to your dad," "Really?" their eyes flew up to meet mine, and instantly they were filled with hope. "Really." "We promise not to do this again," Aiden said first. "Yes, we'll wait for you to wake up before we take a bath next time."Abby lifted her pinky finger, and wagged it with a small smile, "pinky promise." I smiled back, and locked my pinky with hers too, then did the same for Aiden, "pinky promise." The kids wrapped their small hands around me in a big hug, and I hugged them back. "Okay okay, that does not mean I have forgiven you just yet." "You haven't?" Aiden asked sharply. "Nope, but maybe if you clean up your room while I go talk to your dad, I can reconsider." "I'll get the clothes," Abby rushed back into the room. "And I'll get the books," Aiden made his way back too, and before I left their room, they were already making sure they cleaned their mess. I smiled to myself and left their room, then walked down to my room to take my robe before heading to Lucas's room. I took a deep breath before knocking softly on the door. "Who is it?" he growled from inside. "Chris," I said softly. "Come in," "Can we just talk out here," As much as I wanted to speak to him, I knew how my traitorous body would react to him. There was no need to put myself in such a dangerous situation so early this morning. He flung the door open and I almost gasped at the sight of him in just his boxer briefs, with his towel wrapped around his neck. Oh My God "Come inside Chris," he said again, moving away from the door for me to enter. "No it's fine, I'll be super..." Before I could complete my statement, he pulled me inside and slammed the door shut. Oh well, I already knew I was f****d before. He walked past me, and dropped on the bed, regarding me with a straight face, which made it hard to tell if he was upset or not. I sucked in a shuddering breath and looked around his room. It was almost like my room, just much bigger, and more thoroughly designed. His bed was in the center, with enough space to walk around it freely. He had a large work table on the side, that looked just like the one in his office downstairs. The designs were more ornate and almost antique, but still arranged in a way that screamed masculinity. There was an expensive-looking antique carpet covering the floor, up to the foot of the bathroom that was covered in transparent glass. And the most fascinating thing was the glass door, leading to the balcony outside with a view of the entire neighborhood. "You wanted to talk," he said bringing me back to the present. "Um...yeah," I cleared my throat softly and forced my eyes to look him in his. At least that would keep me back from looking at his trim muscles, and well laid out abs, or the veiny chiseled V leading to the obvious bulge his d**k was making in his boxer briefs. Unfortunately for my already distracted mind, my eyes moved first, capturing an image I would surely not be forgetting soon. What was I going to talk about again? I shook my head tersely, hoping to wipe the dirtiness from my mind, but of course, it was going nowhere. I smiled nervously and crossed my hands over my breasts to hide my n*****s that were shamelessly hardening to peaks. "It's about the kids," I managed to say. "What about them?" he asked, feigning ignorance on the topic. "I know they were really naughty this morning," I started carefully, "and believe me I am just as mad as you are, and I know you have every right to give them any punishment you deem fit," "But?" "Maybe um..." I thought of a different way to put what I was going but it still came out in the same way. "maybe you can reconsider their punishment and pardon them this once." He did not say a word, and his face was still as straight as it was before, so I just continued. "They were really only trying to help, and I'm sure they're sorry for the mess they made." "How do you know that?" he asked, getting to his feet. "Well they apologized, and right now they're cleaning up their room," "They are?" he did not bother to hide the snicker that came up. "Yes," I said confused at why that was funny. "Mia tried to get them to do that chore so many times with no success," he stepped closer, "what magic do you have in your hands and words." "Well um, I can't say it's magic," I admitted with a small smile, happy that we were getting somewhere. He took a deep breath and threw his head back revealing his adam's apple. He brought his head back, and now, his straught face morphed slowly into worry, "I agree that I was a little harsh, but it was not because I was mad at them," "I know," I stepped closer, daring my body since I already knew what would happen. "You might think that you hid it so well, but I know you were only scared for them." "I don't know what I would do if anything happened to them in the tub," he admitted and sighed in defeat. "Nothing happened to them," I assured him. "It could have, and I was not there to protect them," he hunched his shoulders and turned around to the window. I followed him and paused just behind him, close enough to feel the heat from his body. I raised my hand tentatively and placed it on his shoulders carefully. He was rigid at first but slowly eased into my touch. "You don't have to protect them alone anymore, that's why I'm here." "But that's not your job," "And it should not be yours alone. You may not know this, but I love those kids, and I have the urge to protect them almost as much as you do." I admitted for the first time ever. He turned around to look at me, the moment I said the words. "You do?' "I do. I don't know why, but those kids mean so much to me, just the thought of them in danger scares me to death. I have never felt such a tight bond to anyone apart from Celine, so I do not know what else to call it." He took a deep breath and gave me a long thoughtful look as his face slipped back to unreadable. "Are you okay?" I asked, scared I might have said something wrong. "I've never been better," he finally gave a full genuine smile, "You just never seem to stop surprising me every f*****g day. How do you get to be so perfect." "Believe me, I am far from perfect." "You give yourself such little credit," he walked closer, but I quickly took a step back, needing to have some space between us. "So...um, does this mean you'll forgive them?" I asked, willing him to say yes. "I can't exactly say no to you?" he c****d his brows. "Well you can," I taunted, "but please don't, the kids really look sad when you canceled the trip." I pouted. "You look like Abby when you do that," he laughed. "Does that mean the trip is on?" "Yes it does," he growled. I did not bother to hold back the excited cry that escaped my lips, and it took a good effort to not launch into his arms. Or maybe it was because I knew doing that would be my complete undoing. "I have two conditions for them though," he said, almost amused at my excitement. "You do?" "First I want them to fix their room themselves, even the bathroom." "Done," I said, without any hesitation, I knew I could trust the kids to do that. "And the second is that they have to be on their best behavior for the rest of today. No naughty tricks or I might just change my mind," he grinned, knowing how impossible that part would be. "We both know the kids can't do that," I laughed. "We'll just have to see," he said and walked past me gracefully. "Now if you don't mind, I have to take a bath," he paused and turned back to me, with a smug grin, and I forced my mind to focus on his handsome face and not on any other part of his tempting body. "we'll leave in two hours unless you want to stay here while I take a bath." Yes please. But the rational part of my brain won this time, as I nervously said, "Please excuse me, I have to get the kids ready," and raced out of the room, with Lucas chuckling behind me. Two hours passed in a blur and the kids did a marvelous job fixing their room, with little help from me, and that only made me prouder. Maybe it was just the thrill of having their trip back on. I put on the most decent dress in my wardrobe, the last thing I wanted was to dress inappropriately for the visit. I took out the peach summer dress with yellow flower designs, I had gotten it from the last time I was at the mall. A moderate sleeve, and a curved neck that did nothing to expose my breasts, with the length that stopping just on my knee. It could not be more moderate than that could it? I left my face as bare as I always did, did a small braid on one side of my hair, and put a cute pin on the other side of my hair. I almost laughed as I looked at the woman in the mirror. Celine would die of laughter if she saw me in these silver heels, that helped to elevate my height. I took out my phone and did the weirdest pose I could think of, before taking a mirror picture. I sent the picture to her along with a small text. Off to meet the inlaws, wish your girl some luck. ❤ She did not respond immediately and I could tell she was still busy at work, or with her new lover. Whichever, I knew she was going to reply to me when she could. I rubbed my sweaty hands on my dress, and did a small twirl, before heading out the door. Lucas stared at me like he had just seen something strange as I walked to the car, where he was witing in his regular suit and tie look that made him look both hot and too official, with the kids inside the car. I gave a half-smile and took his outstretched hand. I was surprised when he brought it to his lips, and pressed a small kiss on my small hands. "You look beautiful," "I would have thought I always looked beautiful," I teased, with a sheepish grin. "You do, but you look even more beautiful today," he smiled. "Thank you," Maybe a dress was not all that bad. "And you look handsome as always," He chuckled and opened the door for me, a gesture that left me just as surprised. Today was going to be a good day because I could not remember the last time anyone held a door open for me. "Everyone's ready?" he asked as he turned around and took his seat behind the wheels of the Rolls Royce. "Ready."
